Exploring the Pompano Beach Drawbridge: A Gateway to Serenity
As you veer off Atlantic Boulevard and descend the ramp toward Pompano Beach, a striking structure greets you—the Pompano Beach Drawbridge. This isn't just any bridge; it's a nautical gateway that ushers you into a realm where the land meets the sea, and the bustling city life transitions into the tranquil vibes of the beach.
The bridge itself is a marvel, designed to reflect the sail elements of the nearby pier parking garage, creating a cohesive and welcoming entrance to the barrier islands. It's not just a passageway but a landmark that captures the essence of Pompano Beach with its grand sail-like entrances and a pedestrian esplanade underneath. This esplanade connects the south to the north, weaving together restaurants and buildings in a seamless blend of urban and maritime architecture.
To the right, as you make your way down, you're greeted by the 'yellow yolk'—a burst of color that adds to the picturesque views surrounding the area. It's a spot that invites you to pause and soak in the beauty, to watch the boats glide by as the drawbridge lifts, on the hour and half-hour, against the backdrop of the expansive sky.
The Pompano Beach Drawbridge isn't just a structure; it's an experience. It's where you can witness the harmonious dance of engineering and aesthetics, functionality and beauty. It's a place that reminds you that sometimes, the journey is just as enchanting as the destination.
So next time you find yourself at this drawbridge, take a moment to appreciate the intricate design and the serene views. Let it be a reminder of the delightful surprises that await when you take the...
Read moreI wanted to like this place .We had driven by the day before and we wanted somewhere where we could sit outside.Went there early the next morning and from appearances it seemed like a really nice place ,but that's where it ended..The patio area and inside of the restaurant was empty and I should have taken that as a hint. The server was nice and she seated us at a table outside and that was when it went downhill.I ordered the Florida crepes and eggs and sausage on the side .The crepes came out cold and tough and i think they were some sort of frozen precooked dough because they had a rubbery consistency that could not have come from being freshly made. The service was slow and once the server brought out our food she didn't check in to see how our food was until we were ready to leave....she didn't offer an alternative but just kind of shrugged it off and took the plate away...all in all the experience was less than pleasurable and I would definitely not return or recommend this establishment...it has the potential to be good but chooses...
Read moreI was excited earlier in the fall when I saw “coming soon” and so glad we checked this place out! Service was beyond amazing! The entire FoH team worked together to make this a wonderful experience.

As a bonus, they are 100% dog friendly on the patio. Our 4.5 month old puppy had a blast and loved all the attention. And, most importantly, the patio is shaded !
Looking forward to coming back and trying lunch - I’m going in on the...
