I went here on my birthday wanting a sweet treat before exploring Port Angeles. My friends and I have several dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten free) and found this spot that had something for all of us.
My partner and friend ordered regular crepes with several toppings. One crepe was so undercooked it was still raw. The other crepe had such sour fruit it was inedible. Then my gluten free crepe came and I could not eat it, it smelled and tasted very bad.
The coffee we had was not any better. We ordered as a group and iced caramel latte, soy vanilla latte, and a smoothie. All of these drinks were so beyond sweet that we had to throw them away after two sips. None of us could even bear to finish our drinks. We were going to ask to have at least the drinks re-made but we heard the workers speaking very loudly that they were understaffed and I did not want to stress them out with re-making three drinks and all of our food.
Overall, I understand being understaffed, everywhere is.. but not everywhere else has such inedible coffee and drinks that they could not be finished. For my two items of food and two drinks it was over $50. I will not be recommending this as a place to stop for anyone going through Port Angeles.
Either perfect your coffee or your crepes. You clearly...
Read moreI wanted to find some good third-wave coffee while on vacation in Port Angeles, so I thought I would try this place since it was well reviewed. I got the drip brewed coffee, black, and was pretty disappointed. It tasted burnt with muddled flavors, like what I'd expect from a Starbucks. I was hoping to experience the craft coffee that Seattle and Washington are known for, but this was a letdown. Also, since the coffee was still actively brewing into the carafe, the barista swapped my cup underneath mid-brew to fill it (so I wouldn't have to wait). While a nice gesture, this seems like a bad practice since different flavor profiles are extracted at different times during the brew, and they are supposed to taste good when mixed together, not when you take one small fraction mid-brew. Maybe that's why mine tasted bad; I got only part of the flavor taken during the middle of the...
Read moreI'm surprised to see this cafe is so highly rated. My experience was shockingly bad. I waited 40+ minutes only to receive a mediocre latte and the worst crepe I've ever encountered. I mean, it was served with a knife and I still had to struggle to cut into it... Burnt, dry as a bone and missing ingredients to boot.
Then when I brought it back and tried to cancel our order for a second crepe, I got major attitude back. To be fair, the guy behind the counter was obviously too stoned and/or hungover to put on his customer service hat. According to him, the reason I was served garbage is because there was a group ahead of us and he only has one crepe machine. So note to management: staff better, staff better and maybe get another pan.
Just an overall awful visit. I'll stick to La Belle Creperie from now on. I recommend anyone reading this to...
