A pretty nice Japanese restaurant in town that also offers hibachi at pretty reasonable prices! I like their drink menu and they're different options they have! A lot of the options come with me so or a salad on the side! I also like the fact that they have a couple window units and dishes such as maybe the ramen... I also like the fact they have a couple options from the hibachi side even if You're not eating there in the main dining room area! The staff is also very nice but a little bit slow to respond at times... But they do try to make every accommodation whatever you want as best as possible! Everything tasted pretty well and although some people mention saltiness, I didn't really experience that with my hibachi combo with steak and scallops! I wondered about the price initially but now I have completely understand as there is alot no matter which dish you order!! Fried rice may be a little bit salty but not too big of a complaint and is very buttery!!

Listen up, seriously.Songoku is so far past 5āļøāļøāļøāļøāļøs that after you read this review you will go there sooner than you thought or if you don’t know the place you will go there now. The sushi rolls have never been anything short of amazing and we have been going there longer & more times than i can count. i thought it’s finally time to give Songoku the praise they deserve. The service, atmosphere, just everything is more than you could ask for. The workers are the most friendly workers of any workers in the town.

However, i did want to leave you, the manager, a couple possible items for the next meeting where you decide stuff. The switched sides bathrooms put me in a full on attack. Thinking the men’s bathroom is on the right, like it is everywhere, can you imagine the site when i walked in to do my business of a woman pulling up her g-string. Lemme tell ya, she gave me look and i carefully backed out of there. also, considering the times we find ourselves in, i think it would be nice to offer timed water spigots in the bathrooms.

I want everyone to know I’ll never stop coming here. Songoku is THE BEST. Love this place so much i’d marry it if i could.

quick edit 7/24/2024. we never tip less than 40% because everything is so awesome and we figure if the workers of Songoku don’t earn better than a living wage then we don’t deserve to eat there.

I’ve been here several times. Usually it’s alright. Pretty disappointing experience last night. I took my son and my 1 year old here for my sons special day. I walk in and get greeted quickly. We sit down at a sticky soaking wet booth. After several minutes the server noticed we didn’t have menus. he brings us some, and I asked to wipe the table. He does, and it’s all good. I understand what it’s like to be busy! We end up sitting there for a long time without anyone coming to take our order. I saw our server walk past us tons of times obviously busy. My one year old is very hungry and squirmy at this point, so we decide to leave since we didn’t know how long it would be. I’m not even upset at this point. It takes us a couple minutes to pack up and get the baby in the stroller. Our server sees us the whole time and says nothing. We didn’t even make it half way to the door before he says to another server ā€œthere’s going to be a table open right thereā€ and points to where we just got up from. The waiting area had people at it they were trying to sit. I was mind blown that we sat there for 30 minutes total and for that to be how it ended… How about take care of the people you have before worrying about anyone else. Maybe they thought I wasn’t going to be worth it since it was just me and two kids. I was going to order three $16-$17 rolls, gyoza, seaweed salad, a beer, a soda, and tip 20% even though the...

I’ve written 42 5-star reviews, this is my first 1-star review ever and I’m surprised that it’s a place with so many good reviews.

There’s a lot of small bad things that happened during our visit, but here were our biggest takeaways:

  1. When we asked for chopsticks after our meal came out because none of us had been given any utensils to eat, they aggressively threw down the chopsticks in the center of our table and sarcastically said, ā€œMerry Christmasā€. My friend joked we should write ā€œHappy New Yearā€ on the receipt, we did not.

  2. Two out of the five of us visiting got bad food poisoning that continued into the next day, which is unfortunate since this was meant to be a three-day vacation. The bathrooms did not have soap, maybe this could have been a contributing factor.

I get that everyone has bad days, so I never want to write bad reviews and especially not for local places. But we were a party of five with a bill well over $100. And it wasn’t that service was poor/slow, they were actively being hostile towards us. And it wasn’t that the food tasted bad, it made us sick. I highly recommend going...
