Ate here for the 1st time in 3 years. After Griff's closed, we would get food from a competitor, drive down to the dock and eat it there. That competitor closed last month so we decided to give The Crazy Norwegians another try.

Our visit was on a Wednesday, not long after they opened for the day. It wasn't busy so our 2 shrimp melts and tater tots were delivered to our vehicle in about 15 minutes. We expected to wait closer to an hour based on past visits.

We took the minute or 2 to drive to the dock and opened up our food.

We did not get even a single packet of ketchup, or any condiment, for our tater tots. Every place we have eaten on the Oregon Coast has included condiment packets for to go orders without being asked.

My husband's shrimp melt was so hot, he had to wait to eat it. It came with a pickle spear. His tater tots were crispy, golden brown and hot but he said they were too salty and only ate 3. He said ketchup would have cut the saltiness.

My shrimp melt was just warm. Mine also came with a pickle spear. My tater tots were dry, not crispy, not soggy, not firm to the touch, not browned at all, and were cool to the touch. The single tot I tried was cold in the center, soft, crumbled into pieces, and had no seasoning. I have made a few dishes where I thaw tater tots to use and the tater tots I got with my shrimp melt reminded me of uncooked, thawed tater tots - not saying that's what I got, just what they reminded me of.

The shrimp melts were good, lots of bay shrimp and swiss cheese, almost no dressing. But for the price we paid for what amounted to 2 shrimp melts (1 hot and 1 just warm) and 2 pickle spears, we could have gone to Bandon and had 2 orders of fish and chips and 2 cups of clam chowder and still had money left...

Let me start off by saying customer service shouldn’t be this challenging- it’s not rocket science. Having worked in the food industry, the behavior experienced here is appalling and I’m shocked this woman is still employed after reading so many reviews posted by others. This restaurant was recommended by the owners of our VRBO. I was really looking forward to their fish and chips as it was highly recommended. When we entered the restaurant, the blonde middle aged woman serving tables was super cold and curt. We were a party of 5. 4 adults and a toddler. We were not offered a high chair or chair for our daughter. The server assumed we’d all be comfortable and okay with a toddler forced to sit on our laps. I know as a mom, this is my favorite way to eat a meal at a restaurant-with my child seated on my lap (insert eye roll here). When she brought our menus over, she said nothing. When she brought the waters over, she said nothing even after I had thanked her. Since there were a few tables outside, we asked if we could take our water and menus out. She turned around, scoffed, pointed and loudly stated we should have just ordered at the takeout window. Excuse us as brand new customers for such an inconvenience we must have caused. We chose to leave to see what other, more positive establishments this beautiful small coastal town had to offer. We ended up at the Shoreline Bistro/Inn. Highly recommend the quaint restaurant and motel. Great customer service and food. Do yourself a favor and keep going a block down the street. You’ll find the Shoreline Bistro/Inn on your left and be...

Let me start off by saying Amy, is an amazing young lady. She was upbeat and knowledgeable. (Amy is the type of employee you want to represent your company/business). Amy your an amazing embassador for your boss. Your attitude and personality is what this world needs more of keep up the good work young lady you will go far. We just left this place wow it was definitely worth the stop. The food was hot and the service is top notch. We had clam chowder that tasted like it came from Norway 🇳🇴 very delicious. The fish was the best I ever had. Good seasoning they did come on top of my fries but I separated them as soon I received my order. (Just my experience with fish and chips gotta separate them). The coleslaw was sweet with a little tang reminded me of the south very delicious. So I also ordered the Razzel dazzel pie and the lemon cream pie. I would have to say the lemon cream is heavenly literally like angles made that pie not kidding. That Lemon cream pie is my new favorite. Thanks Amy for the suggestion. We spent 82.00 we both got the large fish and chips bowls of chowder drinks and pie. I left a 20.00 dollar tip. The experience and food was totally worth it Traveled over 6 hours to eat here must say the best meal I have had in Oregon ever. Thanks Crazy Norwegian for the awesome ...

Frozen Alaskan cod instead of local fish, which is so disappointing considering Port Orford has a thriving local fishery, must be a profit thing but that is not passed down to customer, same prices as other fish mongers up and down coast except they offer local fish like ling cod, rockfish etc...the menu just mentions "cod" and im sure most people assume its fresh, not frozen..most other places will proudly detail what type of ling cod, rockfish etc, this place leaves that info out, kind of deceptive. Not sure if this place was different before new owner from Portland, but what a shame, literally steps away from one of the best local fisheries in Oregon but you get frozen Alaskan cod, apparently some local fish is offered occasionally as a "special" item, instead of being the norm, even tourist town Bandon has local fish in every restaurant, you would expect at least the same in a thriving fishing port like Port Orford, i added a photo of what a local rock fish basket from Bandon Bait looks like, its only a half order and it has more food than greedy, i mean crazy norwegian and it even includes a small locally caught bay shrimp cocktail!
