5â for the service!!!! My husband and I were out fishing in the bay and dragged in late to lunch. We try to support local business and went to downtown Port St. Joe to find something quick to eat so we could head back to fishing. We walked up to Dagwood and after seeing the chalkboard menu outside the building we decided it was a good place to eat but it had just closed, it was just a few minutes after 3pm. As we were walking away from the door, the owner JR arrived to the restaurant and he informed us that he could make us something to go if we were willing to wait. Being hungry, we opted to do that. Within minutes, the owner brought our to go orders, Shrimp tacos (3) & Cuban sandwich combo with drinks. When I pulled my credit card to pay since I had no cash, JR told me lunch was on him. That's one reason why local business will be better than the chain restaurants! Another reason, the shrimp tacos was finger licking good. I have a thing for tacos and this was one of the best I've had. It was on toasted tortilla bread, grilled blacken shrimp, coleslaw, pico de gallo & remoulade sauce (spicy). My husband had the Cuban that came with chips & french onion dip. He said it was good but after eating a Cuban sandwich from a Cuban, there's no comparison. Overall we had an excellent lunch experience. We will definitely go back. This will be on our list of go to places. Highly recommend this ladie for...
Read moreHad the most incredible sandwiches!! My husband loves his Dagwood but my Johnny Carson stole the show! It was cooked to perfection so it had the most amazing crunch and dipped in its sauce! The only reason I couldnât give five stars was the fact that when we ordered we felt a little âput outâ. We asked what came on the sandwiches and yes itâs listed on the board but we didnât know if there might be more or something we werenât aware of, plus it gives the server an excellent opportunity to describe the sandwich in greater detail and sell it. We will be back and donât forget to hop across the street to Anchored South! That was also a...
Read moreWhat a gem! We loved our sandwiches so much we had to grab more the next day, and took one for the road home at the end of our trip. Everyone was SO friendly, which is a bonus because these eats are so good, I'd visit regardless. We had the Grinder, twice....it is everything you want an Italian sub to taste like at its best. We also had the Irish Cuban, the slaw ads flavor and great texture and the jalapeño spread is just the right spicy. Our daughter enjoyed the BLTA and the shrimp tacos were full of tasty toppings. Love it, Dagwood! We...
