5⭐ for the service!!!! My husband and I were out fishing in the bay and dragged in late to lunch. We try to support local business and went to downtown Port St. Joe to find something quick to eat so we could head back to fishing. We walked up to Dagwood and after seeing the chalkboard menu outside the building we decided it was a good place to eat but it had just closed, it was just a few minutes after 3pm. As we were walking away from the door, the owner JR arrived to the restaurant and he informed us that he could make us something to go if we were willing to wait. Being hungry, we opted to do that. Within minutes, the owner brought our to go orders, Shrimp tacos (3) & Cuban sandwich combo with drinks. When I pulled my credit card to pay since I had no cash, JR told me lunch was on him. That's one reason why local business will be better than the chain restaurants! Another reason, the shrimp tacos was finger licking good. I have a thing for tacos and this was one of the best I've had. It was on toasted tortilla bread, grilled blacken shrimp, coleslaw, pico de gallo & remoulade sauce (spicy). My husband had the Cuban that came with chips & french onion dip. He said it was good but after eating a Cuban sandwich from a Cuban, there's no comparison. Overall we had an excellent lunch experience. We will definitely go back. This will be on our list of go to places. Highly recommend this ladie for lunch (11-3).

Nice little spot in Port St. Joe. The Reuben and Dagwood Dog were recommended so I had to try! The Reuben was very filling and loaded with pastrami and sauerkraut! The dressing was spicy and blended well with the sandwich. Be careful as this is a messy sandwich due to the sauce! The homemade chips were crisp and warm, but the star is definitely chip dip AKA"Crack" dip!! A blend of cream cheese and spices played well with the warm chips(you can't have extra dip either). The dog looked tasty, but was very salty and the texture was soft, not a fan.

This is such a fun sandwich shop right off the main highway going through Port St. Joe. I ordered a group order of 17 sandwiches and they were super fast and friendly. It's a walk up window with outdoor seating. We ordered the Beachcomber sandwich and it was so delicious - the bacon was really nice and crispy. The chips and dip are a real treat -- that house made chip dip was the topic of lunch conversation because it was so unique and delicious!!

Had the most incredible sandwiches!! My husband loves his Dagwood but my Johnny Carson stole the show! It was cooked to perfection so it had the most amazing crunch and dipped in its sauce! The only reason I couldn’t give five stars was the fact that when we ordered we felt a little “put out”. We asked what came on the sandwiches and yes it’s listed on the board but we didn’t know if there might be more or something we weren’t aware of, plus it gives the server an excellent opportunity to describe the sandwich in greater detail and sell it. We will be back and don’t forget to hop across the street to Anchored South! That was also a...

What a gem! We loved our sandwiches so much we had to grab more the next day, and took one for the road home at the end of our trip. Everyone was SO friendly, which is a bonus because these eats are so good, I'd visit regardless. We had the Grinder, twice....it is everything you want an Italian sub to taste like at its best. We also had the Irish Cuban, the slaw ads flavor and great texture and the jalapeño spread is just the right spicy. Our daughter enjoyed the BLTA and the shrimp tacos were full of tasty toppings. Love it, Dagwood! We...
