My husband and I had a great time here. We ate dinner at the bar while Chef Caleb prepared a beautiful assortment of rolls. Chef Caleb is skilled and friendly. I am a vegetarian and had plenty to choose from. My husband ate a wide variety of rolls. Service was friendly. The atmosphere was inviting and sitting at the bar was a plus. The hot tea was delicious and it was a great place for dinner! Items we enjoyed included: fresh oysters (yum!) and for the seafood lover and meat eater: Karaage wings, Ichikawa roll, Dungeness crab roll, Karachi maguro (dungeness was the fave) and for the vegetarian: Kampyo Roll (yum!), Avocado roll and Shojin roll (extra yum!). Highly recommend going! A nice high quality, low pressure meal.

So… the service was great the lady was so sweet but…. There was a dead rodent under our table. Rainbow roll was great. Udon was great, spicy tuna roll was subpar. But the rodent had to be the icing on top of our lovely mousy cake! There were no efforts to make this right. We still payed full price for our meal. They picked him up with a napkin and said “sorry”

It was tasty. However i don’t know how to describe it, other then it just doesn’t seem like any of the rolls have a “finishing touch”, or “wasn’t made with love”. I had a salmon roll, very tasty however the rice was super warm, and way to much caviar. But a beautiful location and maybe it was just really warm in port Townsend that day.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times and never felt too compelled to leave a review until now. Times prior, I felt that the staff was pretty busy and that’s why they weren’t being too friendly. This time, however, being only two of four people in the restaurant, We were sitting at our table for about 15 minutes without Service. The waiter did finally come to take Our order was very rude. He didn’t check on us very often and we had to ask for water several times by getting up and walking over to someone. We got our food, it was presented very nicely. The taste was good and definitely better than Safeway sushi. However, for the amount we paid, I can honestly say that I was let down and pretty upset with what we were given. And I’ve seen the owner on here Nasty comments towards one star reviews before, So all I want to say is that I have eaten plenty of sushi And have paid a lot more for sushi than this, but this was not worth the money. If you enjoy sushi and want to support local food please go here if you have the money. If you are looking for something a little more affordable with more options with great quality, I would suggest some places in Seattle/ kitsap/ Bellingham/ B.C. Area! ( the stuff in B.C. Is super cheap but incredibly amazing! Some of the best sushi...

Pretty good but missed the mark.

I've been to a lot of Japanese restaurants including many in Japan. This place was pretty decent in some ways but fell short in others. The sake selection was decent and well priced; most of the appetizers were tasty; the staff were pretty nice and more or less attentive. There were a few things that killed the experience though, and are worth mentioning. The sashimi was all good except the salmon, which my wife had to spit out. I gave it a whiff and it was definitely not fresh. Surprising because the rest of the fish was great. The agedashi tofu was good but not great. Every time I've had it in the past it was silken and soft. This was quite firm. Maybe a regional difference but I wasn't super into it. Finally the salad was not super fresh, seemed like it had been sitting a while. The cucumber was dry and a bit on the stale end.

Overall an okay experience. Would I come again? Not sure. It wasn't my favorite and left me on the...

No spirit of Irasshaimase. Your sushi order is not welcome here. You may not be welcome here. We arrived for an early dinner of sushi to a dining room with two other people already seated and a patio dining area with less than half the seats occupied. We filled out our order for sushi on the paper menu provided only to be told that our sushi order would not be accepted in favor of a party that arrived after us. Other diners who came in after us were also refused sushi service and they chose to leave. We overhead one of the servers expressing the hope that a reservation for a party of 7 would cancel, likely because they did not want to tell another group of sushi seekers that they could only select kitchen service. This is entirely on the shoulders of the sushi chef / restaurant owner. Don't open for in person sushi dining unless you intend to serve your diners the sushi they sought...
