This little restaurant is my favorite for Chinese food in Old Town. We have lunch from here almost weekly. My go to dish Is General Tzo chicken. It crispy spicy wonderfully flavored heaven in a box. I say box because Covid restrictions are just starting to lift and dine in dining has not started as of my last visit. My wife's jam is the orange chicken. It is also very good. One nice detail is that when getting your food to go they leave the containers slightly open so they can vent steam. Instead of making what should be crisp.not. Chen's also has the classic hanging duck and Pork case right up front as you enter. You can purchase whole or half ducks. They offer pork short rib racks by the pound and my favorite fresh BBQ pork. Just get a pound and wow. Lovely . So enclosing I will add they have a huge menu. So you can visit many times and explore other selections. You may find a new favorite. The staff is helpful, friendly and very attentive. So give Chen's a try. They are easy to find because they on the east side of the entry to what was China Town. Look for Tiger dragons. They are the first shop past the...
Read moreWATCH OUT!!! I paid with a card and was charged more than what the receipt said... the lady printed me out a receipt for $14 wich is what it was supposed to be, but the alert that I got on my phone said my card was charged $16.80 which leads me to believe that she intended to add a tip without asking me and doing it without my knowledge. I was led to believe that I had paid only $14 because that's what the receipt said and it wasn't until I got the alert on my phone that I found out she had charged me more.. and honestly I have no problem leaving a tip but this was a to-go order and she didn't even offer me any tea while I was waiting so the idea that she felt she needed to steal a tip from me is more than enough reason why I will never go back to that mediocre Chinese restaurant ever again! And I hope they're happy because they just lost a customer for life over $2.80 and I will do my best to steer others away from their...
Read moreThis place is a Portland Chinatown hole in the wall restaurant with great food. Chinese bbq is the claim to fame. I have been going to this place ever since I moved to Portland 15 years ago. The Super Bowls are great with loads of bbq, veggies, warm broth, wontons, and noodle. There are super bowl a with traditional Chinese bbq, Super bowl b is served with cow stomach(tripe), stewed beef, no Chinese bbq, veggies, warm broth and noodle. The stir fry dishes are delicious. They serve very good fried rice. Another dish I like is the house crispy noodle with stir fried veggies, meats, seafood with broth. You pour the broth over the noodle for a crunchy and chewy feast. Not very expensive. ...
