Commercial Street Pub is the kind of place that feels like home—if your home had better beer, great music, and a bartender who could probably run the country if she felt like it.
John and Tracy, the dynamic duo running the joint, are like your fun aunt and uncle at a wedding—but with better booze and slightly more control over the jukebox. John knows everyone’s name within 10 minutes, whether you told him or not. Tracy will invite you over for good food and a party within the hour.
Then there’s Emily, the bartender. A legend. She pours drinks with the grace of a ballerina and the side-eye of someone who has seen things. Ask her for a drink and she'll make you the best one you've ever had. She’s got a sixth sense for knowing exactly what drink you need—even before you do.
The regulars are great too. All in all, Commercial Street Pub is the kind of place where everybody makes it fun. The vibe is exactly what you want in a neighborhood pub: easygoing, cheerful, and just the right amount of quirky. One visit and you’ll understand why people keep coming back. If you’re looking for a pub with charm, great company, and the kind of staff that makes you feel like family, Commercial Street Pub is the place to be. Don’t be surprised if you leave with a smile—and maybe a story or two to tell. 10/10 would...
Read morePortland is one of my favorite city’s to visit. There is no shortage of great places to drink and hang out at days end. I usually don’t go to sports bars when in Maine but was looking forward to watching the Sunday night football game. The atmosphere upon walking in was cozy and welcoming. There was great music playing and a great low key friendly vibe... that was until I went to order a beer. The bartender looked at my ID and mumbled under her breath “I’m not taking that”. I didn’t hear her and assumed when she went to the other side of the bar she was getting my drink. She then saw I was still waiting and shouted back across the bar “I’m not taking that” referring to my ID. Keep in mind I’m 27 years old and have a REAL NY ID, so needless to say I was very confused. When I asked her why, stumbling over her words as if she’s had a bit too much to drink, she kept saying I’m not taking it. Seeing as she wouldn’t even do me the dignity of telling me why, I asked the other bar tender and he said she thought it was fake. I told him to scan it, to which he replied they don’t have a scanner. If you are concerned about fake ids I would at least think you’d have an ID scanner. Unfortunately I missed the first few drives of the game but I found a place down the street that had no problem serving my 27...
Read moreCommercial Street Pub is hands-down the best bar ever, and I do not say that lightly. It has all the charm, energy, and character you could want in a neighborhood pub, along with a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in. This is not just another bar in Portland, it might very well be the best bar in the entire USA.
For Nebraska Cornhusker fans, this place is a dream come true. It is a true Husker bar, proudly repping the red and white and creating a game day experience that feels like home. Whether you are watching the Huskers with fellow fans or just soaking in the camaraderie, the vibe here is unmatched.
The drinks are cold, the pours are generous, and the prices are fair, which makes it easy to settle in for the night. The bartenders are friendly, quick, and always ready with a smile or a great conversation. You can tell this is a place where people come for both the drinks and the people.
Commercial Street Pub is the kind of bar that sticks with you long after you leave. Between the Cornhusker pride, the unbeatable atmosphere, and the amazing staff, it is the definition of a perfect bar. If you are in Portland, do yourself a favor and make this...
