Blanche & Mimi — Local services in Portland

I’m so disappointed to be writing this review. I purchased an enamel serving spoon from Blanche & Mimi on Sept 17, 2023 for $25 and less than 3 months later heres the condition of that spoon today… chipping and flaking. I didn’t even know this product was coated in such a way that it could flake. It’s not food safe for me to use anymore and I’ll have to toss it in the trash. Such waste of money and resources. I think about all the cookware I’ve inherited from family that’s lasted generations and the fact that this lasted less than 3 months is a disgrace. I can’t in good faith recommend this store unless they remove these products from their inventory. Lastly, I am the Queen of handwashing so, no, this spoon NEVER went in the dishwasher. We’ve probably used it less than 5 times...

I just wanted to thank you for going above and beyond. My girlfriend and I were in Portland visiting for a few days and really enjoyed browsing through your store. There was a leather bag that she absolutely loved ... and later regretted not buying.

I called a few weeks later to see if you still had it. You did, and even texted me photos to confirm it was the correct item. And though not standard practice, you went further: wrapped it beautifully and promptly shipped it to me here in MA.

It was a birthday gift ... one she absolutely LOVED.

Beautiful store but rude staff. My family and I walked in right before closing (we didn't know they were about to close) and were not greeted by either of the 3 employees. The two employees on the floor I thought were customers. My husband told me they were closing, so we headed to the door, which was locked. They locked the door with customers inside instead of politely making an announcement that they were closing soon. Once we were outside, two other women walked out and were telling their husbands about how rude the staff was, which validates how I felt and...
