Cheese Louise Review
My husband and I, both in our late forties, decided to grab a bite at Cheese Louise after a concert, around 1 AM on a Friday. Walking in, we were completely shocked. The place was absolutely mobbed—about 100 people crammed into a space designed to hold maybe 15. It was chaotic, tight, and extremely disorganized, with the clientele primarily being intoxicated, loud, and aggressive young adults.
While waiting in line, four men barged in and began pushing people, including me. They were physically aggressive, grabbing and touching me as they forced their way to the front. My husband and I tried to calmly remind them that everyone was waiting and they shouldn't cut in line, but they became increasingly hostile. This was all happening in full view of the staff, yet the employee on duty did nothing to intervene. Instead, he stood by and watched as these men swore at us, threatened my husband, and continued to make me feel unsafe.
I’ve been to countless restaurants, concerts, and venues, but I’ve never felt as unsafe as I did here. The disorganization of the ordering process, combined with the over-serving of alcohol, creates an environment that is not only chaotic but dangerous. The staff's response? They kicked everyone out. This, despite the fact that I had been vocal about feeling threatened. It was absurd and irresponsible. I was forced to walk outside with the very men who had been harassing me inside.
Cheese Louise has a responsibility to ensure the safety of its patrons, and they completely failed. Over-serving liquor to visibly intoxicated customers and failing to manage crowd control is a recipe for disaster. Someone is going to get seriously hurt.
This place needs to re-evaluate its priorities—whether that’s limiting the number of people inside, stopping service to visibly intoxicated individuals, or hiring security. Middle-aged women should not have to fear for their safety while trying to order a grilled cheese. This experience was unacceptable, and I won’t...
Read moreWhere to begin. When I first heard about cheese louise I was excited because I love cheese, I wanted to like this place and was disappointed when I didn't. No parking, no american cheese, no soda products, dirty table, not a lot of choices for food, over priced. There's literally no parking unless you find side street parking but with how busy old port is, good luck finding a spot. Drink choices are minimal, no soda at all, we found a table available that was dirty but we cleaned it. I spend a lot of money weekly going out to restaurants, if even I'm saying it's over priced then it's REALLY over priced. My husband got the baconator, I got the godmother, he said his was okay but I actually really enjoyed the godmother, but $35.00 for two grilled cheese and some chips and a small side salad is kinda expensive. The salad was sad and not filling. But, like I said, I enjoyed the sandwich. They accept debit/credit and cash and also have outside seating. Wheelchairs may fit but it'll be tight. Kids will love this place but it'll cost you a fortune. For vegetarians and people on a diet, they offer salads. They don't offer soda products but I did enjoy the lemonade but it was small. They do offer beer as well but no soda. They do offer you board games to play, so thats kind of interesting. They have merchandise that says their name on it like cups and hats. The secret sauce was actually pretty good as well. The manager was probably the highlight of this experience, she was professional, nice and knew her menu very well. While the sandwiches are good, they are just not worth the price, if you don't care about price then you will like this place. My recommendation try the the godmother...
Read moreIf you’re looking for comfort food done right, Cheese Louise is the kind of place that makes you feel like a kid again—with a gourmet twist. This cozy grilled cheese haven doesn’t just serve sandwiches; they serve up golden, melty happiness between two slices of perfectly toasted bread.
From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with the warm, buttery aroma of fresh grilled cheese. The vibe is fun and laid-back, with quirky decor and clever sandwich names that make you smile before you even order.
The menu is packed with creative takes on the classic grilled cheese, from gooey mac-and-cheese-stuffed melts to spicy, bacon-loaded versions that bring the heat. I went for their signature sandwich—crispy on the outside, creamy and rich on the inside, with just the right balance of sharp cheddar and savory extras. Every bite had that perfect cheese pull that makes you want to snap a photo (and then devour it instantly).
The sides deserve love too—especially the tomato soup, which is velvety, slightly tangy, and basically the grilled cheese’s soulmate.
Whether you’re a grilled cheese purist or looking to try something wild like brie, fig jam, and prosciutto, Cheese Louise has something to hit the spot. It’s not just food—it’s nostalgia, creativity, and comfort all wrapped up into one epic...
