Dr. Jack’s…named after the Portland Trailblazer infamous hall of Fame Coach Jack Ramsey. who guided the Blazers to our only Championship in 1977. To put a watering hole/pre game and during game bar and restaurant is brilliant at the South Gate of the Moda Center. And who better to salute…then the Blazers iconic Coach. We have always made Dr. Jacks our meeting spot for the Blazers season games. Food, drink, gathering and amping up for the game. They have modified there menu, due to Covid, they have taken all the proper measures to make it a safe, clean and casual locale. I enjoy the Porter, the flat bread and some Tv time with buddies. It’s pricey, but everything is pricey at Moda. You might as well gather and enjoy the food and endless options for drinks.

We got to the Moda Center early for the Blazer Game...As it got closer to game time, it got busy...plenty of spaces to sit (although not necessarily at a table)...prices were extremely high for the quality and quantity served. Had a “gummy bear martini” and it was very sweet (which I enjoy) however the cost was crazy higher and would not recommend it for the charge. My husband had the RipCity Trail Cat and it was good & worth the price since it was a good size cup....We shared the Pretzel Sticks with Nacho Green Chile Cheese & order of Cheesy Bread with Marina & Ranch. The Pretzels were hot and moist - the cheese AMAZING...the cheesy bread was disappointing...overall it’s convenient but not worth the heavy price tag

47 minutes to order a drink. This is the third time we have tried this location and the best time was a poor experience. This time was a train wreck. A train filled with clowns. Slow slow moving clowns. The line was about 15 deep on each of the 2 tills open. 5 people in front of me bailed or it would have been much worse. Same drinks inside would have taken about 20 minutes. We gave up on food. I thought an hour and a half would be plenty to have a drink and bite. Way wrong. Save the headache and just eat some of the moda food. Quality is the same and price is better in the venue amazingly enough. 15 dollars for an anemic pizza here. Or better yet get food elsewhere before. Literally anywhere else.

I wish I could give this place ZERO stars! I went to the Moda Center last night with a friend to see Depeche Mode, I was very excited about this concert. I am a new transplant to Portland and this is my first trip to the Moda Center. So we have just over an hour til the concert begins.

There were so many things wrong with this place. First off there was no seating so my friend and I stood at a barrel, after about 10 minutes the waitress/bartender comes over and takes our orders. I ordered the taco plate and my friend ordered the cheesesteak plus a drink each. So we're waiting and keeping an eye out for any tables opening up. After about 20 minutes we see a table that is fairly close open up so we move there. I go to find our waitress to let her know we moved because our food should be arriving soon. I show her where we are and she says ok. Another 10 minutes and a different waitress comes by and asks if we need help.

It has been roughly 40 minutes at this point. No waters, napkins drinks NOTHING. So we tell the new waitress that we ordered but it has been way tooooo long and we point our waitress out to her. The new waitress comes back and takes our orders again. Now we have about 20 minutes to the concert but we don't care about the opening act so no biggie. I reordered my whiskey on rocks and my friend cancels her drink at this time. Another 15 minutes, still no drink or waters. My friends cheesesteak arrives and nothing else. I mean NOTHING else. No napkins, waters anything. She takes a few bites says it's good but needs napkins as this is a gooey sandwich. We flag a busser and she brings us napkins and waters. So my friend finishes her cheesesteak I NEVER RECEIVED anything. we left $15 on the table and leave.

Now I hate to be that person but we were the only 2 people of color in this restaurant filled with hundreds of patrons and I have never been denied service in my life. So I'm going to say that of the four people who stopped by our table over the time we were there not one bought me anything I have to say that this restaurant must have some unspoken racist policy. This is the racism that exists in Portland. No one cursed me, no one assaulted me, everyone was polite and yet I felt that I was in the deep south in the fifties.

DON'T patronize this...

These guys are thieves!! My friends and I met for one quick drink before the recent Perfect Circle show at the garden. I ordered one drink that was $12.00. (THAT SUCKED BY THE WAY) And I tipped $1.00 on my card making my total $13.00 which I signed the slip for then left and went to the show. Fine. I even left a dollar bill on the bar in addition to that. A $2.00 tip on one drink is more than fair. We all expect semi rude service, a long wait at the bar and a grossly over priced drink anywhere near the Moda center right? Right! Until I checked my bank account a few days later! These crooks crossed out my $1.00 tip and changed the tip total to $5.00 on a $12.00 tab! For one drink making my total $17.00 plus the $1.00 in cash I left. $18.00 for one drink?! Who does that. No one leaves a 50% tip! To make it worse they ran my card a second time! After I left! for a purchase I never made and didn't sign for. A second completely unauthorized purchase without my knowlefge or signature. That's fraud! My bank reversed the charges today! I hope whoever is in charge sees this and fires that shady chick! Don't steal from hardworking people just trying to have a fun yet extra expensive night out! Watch your bank accounts for a week or so after you visit Dr. Jack's! They're out to make a come up by any means necessary! And to make it worse you cant even call this place to complain. You get the moda center non answer, answer line that is not manned by a human that you can't even leave a message at. It advises you to message them on Facebook! Yep! Who does business this way in this day and age? The only reason this place is open is because its the only place to go outside the actual venues. ...

Dr. Jack Ramsey would roll over in his grave if he knew how this place was being run. I went there with my wife last night and was looking forward to watching the Blazers home game on one of their many TVs. This is the first time that I've been to the Rose Quarter without a game ticket and wanting to watch the game at a convenient sports bar next door with hopefully some Blazers enthusiasm.

Not one of their 20+ TVs had the game on! When I asked about this I was told that they don't put the game on TV during the weekdays, but they do on weekends because they are opened later. They were trying to close up by 8pm. I just don't understand that if you call yourself Dr. Jacks, are next door to where the Blazers are playing, have Portland Trailblazer everything in your establishment, that you wouldn't even have one TV showing the game! While I get that they want to close by 8pm, wouldn't it still be a nice courtesy to the fans that are still there enjoying a drink or finishing their food, to allow the game to be on. They can still let their customers know that everything shuts down at 8pm, which coincidentally is at halftime.

The only reason why a place like this survives is because of its location for people getting to the game early. They wouldn't make it anywhere else outside of the Rose Quarter. You don't really have to improve your business much when people continue to show up every game because there are no other options. Reminds me of other businesses that have you captive and can get away with anything and are yet still lucky enough to have traffic every night. Actually it's like a glorified concession stand that hopefully paid Jack Ramsey's family to use his name. He...
