IN JOY COFFEE — Restaurant in Portland

This would have been a five star review but I was very disappointed with In J Coffee today. My partner and I wanted to try out the quick sausage breakfast sandwich, and to our dismay, we saw the barista pull out Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. In addition, we were charged $1 each for vegan cheese on our sandwiches, which is an egregious upcharge. We paid $8 for pre-made/processed breakfast sandwiches that we could have gotten from a convenience store, and for less. For reference, a box of 12 costs about $14 at Walmart.

We normally feel like our money is spent well here, but did not feel this way after today's experience. If Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches are what you want to have as an option, it would be nice to honestly and accurately market it for what it is. We enjoy In J Coffee for the normally high quality products, such as the in-house roasted beans and the other homemade breakfast sandwich.

We will still be giving this place our business but hope they will give consideration to these issues...

Consider In J COFFEE a sanctuary for those with elevated coffee palates & a place where standards soar higher than your morning energy boost. Things you should know: I. PARKING You'll have to rely on good ol' street parking II. SERVICE The baristas here are the Da Vincis of coffee, juggling orders like seasoned pros. I recently threw Court a barrage of drink requests, and they managed to promptly pump out the orders—while still managing to engage in a chat that would make even your therapist envious. And guess what? For my fellow chess enthusiasts, there's a board waiting for your move between sips. III. QUALITY You want latte art? Check. Locally sourced pastries? Double check. Unique twists to your daily ritual? Just glance at their menu—seriously, the dirty chai latte just might rock your world. IV. CAPACITY Seating's tighter than your favorite skinny jeans, but fear not! Its the fall season, and I am on a spree of trying the pumpkin spice latte at various cafe's around. Until now I have tried this latte at Umbria, McDonald's and Starbucks. J Coffee while intrigued me with various different innovative lattes on their menu (menu added in pictures) I stuck to the pumpkin latte and it was good/okay. Not that I would come back again for the same drink, but it was okay'ish. I would rather prefer Starbucks for the same drink.
