Counter-service joint for Filipino fusion food. We don’t really have anything like this where I live (which is surprising to me because the concept is totally intuitive), so I was curious to try. I was a little hesitant though, because I was worried it might be the kind of food that’s really oily, salty, etc, but even though they have lots of fried foods here, it was more like homestyle food than greasy fast food. The menu has lots of customizable choices, many of which are vegan-friendly. You can even further dress your food to your liking with the variety of condiments at every table: Filipino all purpose sauce, sriracha, sweet chili sauce, sriracha ketchup, banana ketchup, and of course salt and pepper. There’s a huge variety of desserts too and many flavours of bubble tea with the usual selection of standard toppings plus fruits and Filipino-inspired options. I got the Canton style deluxe pancit noodles with tofu, ube flan, and a lychee lemon Thai tea with jackfruit. I really liked the texture of the fine lo mein noodles with the shredded vegetables. It was also appreciated that there were a LOT of vegetables, about equal parts veg and noodle. Flavour-wise, I found that the first few bites were a little plain, but I added some of the all-purpose sauce and sriracha from the condiment rack at my seat and that made it perfect. I could have used a more intense ube flavour from the ube flan but it was still very nice – the flan wasn’t too sweet and had the characteristic earthiness of ube with a nice caramelized condensed milk topping. I really liked the unexpected (to me) combination of Thai tea and lychee in my drink, and the jackfruit would have complimented it nicely except the pieces were too long to go through my straw and sank to the bottom of the drink so I couldn’t really sip them up without a straw, so I ended up just eating them with a spoon – maybe cutting them shorter would make it easier. I kept being bothered by two small flies while I was eating. I don't know how it is in Portland, but in Vancouver where I'm from, fruit flies are unavoidable during the summer so I'll give most places a pass on flies during that season, but not in March. I think it was only two, so not an infestation, but still annoying. The people were nice. I could not decide what I wanted to drink and changed every single aspect of my drink order as I was placing it, but the guy taking the order was very chill about it. Would return if I lived...
Read moreIt is a nice place welcoming friendly a little small not a lot of room to move around but it is nice it has a homely feeling to the place but the food I'm sorry wasn't to my liking the wings the BBQ flavor wasn't good it really didn't have much flavor the sauce was watery and the Shanghai lumpia wasn't good at all I thought it would be grounded pork with carrots and onions but it was basically a pork sausage link and the wrap they were burned hard to eat I dont know if that is how they are supposed to be but I won't be trying them again the place smell so yummy but the food just wasn't good maybe I order the wrong thing I'm not sure but I wasn't happy and I spent over 30 dollars for 6 wings a order of Shanghai lumpia and two drinks the strawberry lemonade was good they were out of some desserts I wish the food had been better.and the sauce they give you to dip in as well very watered down not thickI'm not sure if that's how this stuff is supposed to be but I was very disappointed other people might like it but for me it's just not a place that I will be returning especially paying over $30 for two food items and two drinks it was like the Shanghai lumpia wasn't fresh it said ground pork so you would think maybe it had the consistency like hamburger ground beef but this was literally a sausage link to me because when I bit into it the whole sausage came out whole no crumbling a whole...

The food: Fantastic! Crispy and moist wings, delicious drinks, and the desserts were unique and tasty!
The vibe of the restaurant was also right on point, same as my first visit, though I will admit it was a bit tight. I am not a small man and I feel like I would have shared elbow space with other customers if I had shown up during a meal rush.
The service: Not much I could have asked for, more! The orders were taken promptly and accurately, the food came out quickly and steaming hot and the custom bubble tea I ordered was absolutely delicious!
About the only reason I could not give this place a perfect rating is from the price point. I ordered 1.5 dozen wings, a custom bubble tea and two desserts and it came out to a little over 50usd. After doing a bit of research, this type of pricing is not so out of the realm of eating establishments. Although personally, I would only be able to justify eating like this once or twice a month.
If you're visiting Portland with friends or just looking for a cozy spot for delicious hot food, I would still highly...
