Ordered the single chicken plate with arugula and original hot sauce, and I added a side of beans a la carte because I really wanted to try them. Everything was delicious! The hot sauce is actually hot, the arugula was all nice and fresh, the chicken thigh was tender and flavorful, and the beans were creamy and delicious. I would've loved an option to have plain coconut rice, as that is what I miss most from Belize, and it's nice to get the coconut flavor separate from the beans. This is a great, healthful option and very reasonably priced at $11 for a full meal; with $15 I can easily make two good meals. The interior is quite casual, with a beautiful mural of a Mayan building on the wall, counter seating as well as a few tables, and two clean restrooms. The staff were pleasant and personable, and I feel for them having to work in this place without A/C! Because it's quite hot, they weren't offering their curry, but hopefully I can come back to try...
Read moreYou probably can’t tell from the outside of this spot, what a gem, a rock, a sold out show of a restaurant this space is… but your NOSE and TUMMY will tell you all about it.
Perfect spot for lunch and will likely not be open later or in the evening- fair warning!
If it’s busy- they will sell out as well. Usually Belizean packs in during lunch time (Open-12:30pm and 1pm), centered near offices and PSU. Great if you’re in a pinch for time (they churn out plates in under 10 mins), if you’re in construction, or work in an office.
Every meal is packaged/plated on sustainable to-go ware. The menu is simple and straight forward. They really focus on a few offerings and it truly shines because of this! They’ve perfected the craft! The Habanero Pepper Sauces are fire, as well as the other toppings that come with your meal.
Made from the heart!
A must stop if you’re in town or if walking by and hungry… just let your nose lead you to the door! You...
Read more"This place has got to be good." This is my thought when feeling the vibe inside, the simple menu, and the high rated reviews online. It does suck to have such high expectations though, that means if it is disappointing, then it'd be that much worse. We ordered the two meat combo with tri-tip and beered pork, which is their signature dish. I thought it was good, but wasn't over the top (maybe it was the high expectation going in). The trip-tip was sweeter flavored, and the bell peppers has helped sweetened it some more. The beered pork was slow braised and tender, and you can definitely taste the beer. It's not to my liking, but it might be a personal preference, I'm just not a big fan of beer. We also ordered coconut soup- a bit too sweet and heavy for me. Overall it's good, just don't go in with too high of an...
