Canceling your membership is a complete and utter nightmare. After my experience, I havenât and wonât return to this location. There is a guy here who is an âSSEâ a sales associate just with more tasks than a SA. I started calling him rotten Rodney (if Rodney is really his name) the group room has no rules against turning the lights off in there and holds classes that definitely have the lights off during. I like to have the lights off when I am in there doing stretches or my lunges and of course Iâll ask if someone is in there. He comes in, walks around the whole place while eyeballing me hard, flips the lights on and leaves. I got up to turn them off, he turned right back around and told me they had to be on and that it was against the rules. (I called multiple locations after and itâs not a rule) Later on, he went around, held up fingers of how much time we had left before closing and announced it (there is a intercom speaker for this reason) I was finishing up my planks and he came over and told me the gym was closed. I had 3 minutes left? It was relatively new that they were doing this as most people are pretty much finished with their work outs, trying to get that last set in and or in the lockers getting their belongings. I stated that I had 3 minutes left and he really didnât like that. He continued to say that the gym was closed, that I could leave and he became more aggressive each time. It got to the point where I just gave up and stopped my plank. I was feeling rather uncomfortable with his attitude, stature and how he was raising his voice towards me. I had a pretty nasty week and it was only Wednesday and I was blowing off some steam in the gym. Now, I wasnât talking in an entitled tone when I asked but I had asked him if he could be nicer and or say that differently because he was being so rude and I was feeling uncomfortable. He said no. He tried to grab the foam mat I had in my hands from my hands and it just made it worse because he was so forceful. He and I were alone at that point as everyone had left. He was very demeaning and acting like a bully only to stop and start to disengage when I started recording our interaction. He threatened to call the police on me because I was âtrespassingâ and he could have me banned because as he put it âIâm an sse, I have the power hereâ at this point the gym was indeed closed. I really do feel like he was bullied growing up or something because that attitude was a power trip and he was trying to fill the void with something. I did contact the gym via email and no response. As a woman, I did feel unsafe. I shouldâve just left but I tried to stand up for myself and it didnât work out as intended. Also, there are always huge...
Read moreWell it's a nice gym. Having all sort of equipments. It has swimming pool, sauna, steam bath etc. It's well connected to public transport, you can find street parking easily as well. Usually it has decent crowd which maintain hygiene which is a plus point. Staff is nice especially Kendall and Joe. Given 4 star coz there are some problems too such as sauna is temporarily closed for more than a month, there is one leg raise machine which is broken and haven't been repaired yet. I have seen two times a person was using soap and kinda taking bath in steam room which was unhygienic. Evening time janitor cleans locker area and make it completely wet. Otherwise people are nice, respectful and staff is supportive :)
My earlier review was one year old and i had very positive view about the gym but now it has changed drastically. Most of the time it happens either spray bottle is empty or paper towels are missing, nobody cares. Number locks at locker area are broken since past 3 months and no one care to fix it. Someone intentionally keep on breaking those locks, pulling curtains in shower area etc. Couple of time many of us observed homeless people are freely roaming inside and looking up at the lockers to grab some stuff. Except Francisco I donât see people are attentive enough at front desk (Maybe there are more attentive people i am not aware of), either they are busy in phone or sitting somewhere else which makes easy for miscreants to sneak out easily. So many times people stuff was stolen from locker area. One time one person got almost stabbed at locker area by a homeless person and this was the person i complained to management about his aggressive behavior earlier but there was no action that time. My complain was taken as joke. This was the level of seriousness by earlier staff members! People come to gym to lower their stress but here you are always stressed about your stuff. Though I donât use swimming pool but saw many people jumping into pool directly after using sauna. Dumbbells are misplaced many time. No cold water to drink. Only one positive thing happen, gym is more clean, thanks to the duo who are working hard to keep it clean (But sometimes itâs annoying to see too much water during morning time while they are cleaning). I prefer this gym since itâs in walking distance otherwise I wonât be buying expensive membership with so...
Read moreAs a long-time member of 24 hour Fitness, I've witnessed significant changes over the years, but unfortunately, not all for the better. The recent shifts in operating hours, equipment quality, and membership fees have left much to be desired, resulting in a less than satisfactory experience.
One of the primary draws of 24 Fitness has always been its promise of accessibility, boasting round-the-clock availability for members to fit their workouts into their busy schedules. However, the decision to close the gym at 10 pm severely restricts this convenience, making it inaccessible for those who prefer or require late-night workouts. This change undermines the very essence of what made 24 Fitness stand out among its competitors.
Furthermore, the state of the equipment is another pressing concern. While other gyms invest in updating their machines to keep pace with advancements in fitness technology, 24 Fitness seems to lag behind. Many of the machines are outdated, showing signs of wear and tear, and in dire need of replacement. This not only impacts the effectiveness and safety of workouts but also reflects poorly on the overall commitment to member satisfaction and well-being.
To compound matters, the recent increase in membership fees by $50 feels unjustified given the diminishing value proposition. Members are now paying more for a service that is becoming increasingly limited in its offerings. This move seems out of touch with the current competitive landscape of the fitness industry, where affordability and value-added services are key factors in retaining loyal customers.
In conclusion, the recent changes at 24 hour Fitness have been disappointing, to say the least. The restricted hours, outdated equipment, and increased fees have collectively diminished the appeal and value of the gym. As a loyal member, I sincerely hope that 24 hour Fitness reconsiders its approach and prioritizes the needs and expectations of its members to regain its standing as a premier fitness...
