Stay far away from this place. My unit did not have a functional fan in the bathroom, the elevators are constantly broken, and the laundry room always has water coming from the ceiling. The maintenance elevator was broken for close to a year by the time I moved out so maintenance would lock down one of the two other elevators to take out trashes and whatnot (my one star is not due to maintenance, they were actually nice and helpful) so there would be one elevator for the entire building. There were times where no elevator would function and it would take at least a week for them to get the elevator back up, and then it would just break again. Due to the elevator issues, the trash cans on each floor were not taken out as often as they should have, with trash building up for what felt like weeks at a time. The office rarely picks up their phones, which made leasing this place a pain (should have been a sign for me to find another place) and when they did answer they were rarely helpful. The laundry room often had broken machines and there would usually be something leaking from the ceiling, leading to massive puddles of who knows what on the ground. Also there has been water dripping from light fixtures too which was not ideal. There would be times where the parking garage entrance would be broken for up to a week at a time. It took two months to get my deposit back and I only got it back because I told them I would take them to court if they did not get me my money (shout out to PSU student legal services). Part of the delay in getting the deposit was due to my error but the check managed to get to the corporate office and back to the Vue. As soon as the check made it back to the Vue they should have contacted me and let me know the check was there. If they had contacted me when this happened, I wouldn't even be writing this review. Moona from the office claimed to have contacted me but I have zero emails, voicemails, or calls from them so I know that is bull... I went to the office a couple days after the check had made it back to the Vue but when I spoke to Moona that day she said that the only information she had was that the accountants knew they had my deposit but not where it is at. She took my contact information AGAIN that day and said she'd follow up but did not. Once I sent them the letter that a lawyer drafted up for me they magically could find my deposit. Once I got the deposit back I found out they decided to nickle and dime it as much as they could, including charging me $32 to replace the stove's drip pans, even though I replaced them the day that I cleaned my apartment for the last time with brand new drip pans. They also charged me $150 to "resurface" which to me sounds like they're charging me for normal wear and tear but who knows, maybe they just needed to be clearer about what I did for the charge to happen. Long story short, this place will suck every cent they can from you while providing nothing of value and you should read every other one star review. This place is sketchy as hell and I am sure there are other questionable and/or illegal things that this has has done that I cannot remember or do not know about.

I just moved across the country from Virginia to Portland. I fell in love with Vue Apartments online during apartment research. Selecting an apartment sight unseen in a new city could have been overwhelming. Not with Christine and her staff at Vue Apartments. She as the manager and her staff made things so much easier and less stressful. They took the time to answer my questions about the apartment as well as my random questions about the new city I would call home. They were responsive, kind and professional. The manager went out of her way to accommodate all of my requests, and all staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. The building is secure, there are a Starbucks, a restaurant with beer, and subway right in the building - not to mention being on the famous Park Blocks. The amenities of the Vue Apartments include a secure building with access only using a key fob, rooftop deck with stunning views, common areas to relax and unwind to avoid the rainy blues of Portland in the rain, secure package facilities with an app to let you know your packages arrived while avoiding the temptation for others to take your shipments, secure parking garage, laundry facilities, with an app to text you when the dryer is finished, concierge to help people like me enjoy Portland, and it is a secure location as it is located on the campus of NSU. ABOVE ALL - Super, duper dog friendly. Check out the pic of me and my Lab Libby on the roof top deck. I am in love with the attentive and friendly staff and the location. I am appreciative for the management has done to make my move to Portland smooth and pleasurable. Thank you Vue Apartments!

I live in The Vue Apartments downtown and they are disgusting. I loved living here at first. Now the rent and utilities are outrageous and going up again. The owners have really let the building get run down the past 7 months due to the current manager who does absolutely nothing. Laundry room is filthy, smells like mold, the utility sink is horrid and half of the machines are are not working at any given time. All the windows have no screens and the building has no air-conditioning. The building is full of flies and nats. There is graffiti inside and outside of the building as well as a large broken window boarded up with plywood. The parking garage floor is filthy and it smells. The front entrance smells like dog urine from where dogs urinate on the building. The freight elevator hasn't been in service for 8 months so they use the tenant elevators to move smelly garbage that is always over-flowing. I asked the manager if the freight elevator would be working when I move, she told me I could use the stairs or they could store my things until someone can move them for me. I'm a senior and I live on the 11th floor and because they will not repair the freight elevator I will have to carry my large furniture down the stairs. Homeless are on the property daily sleeping and smoking dope. Between the drug problem and the run down building and the raise in rent I have had it. If you're considering renting here, I would run, fast. Thank God I'm moving but I feel sad for residents that cannot move, they are being taken advantage of.

Please do not consider this place as an option to move in. There are too many things in this complex that needs fixing. It is way too old of a building. This place has too many gnats and flies. They have no screen or normal windows? How are we supposed to put a window ac or even a portable one?? It gets hot in the summer. The main elevator used for moving big furniture like sofas, dressers, etc, is still broken. It worked thankfully when I first moved in but when I moved out it had been broken for weeks already. And I moved out the ending of feb 2024. Not sure if it is still broken but.. like I do not get how they expect people who are moving in OR out to move their stuff around?? So if you want to move in on floor 3 or above.. good luck if it is in fact still broken I personally think their utilities are too high for how much is going wrong in this complex. I moved to a different, NEWER, and much nicer complex and my utilities are by far way cheaper.. 200+ borderline 300?? This place is a joke. Not sure if this has happened to anyone else but our apartment on the 2nd flooded on xmas day at like 3-4AM. I had to call the fire department because no one was calling me back when I left voicemails in the emergency maintence line and the water was coming fast.. It even started to flow out into the hallway. This wasnt even the first time our place had a flooding issue. Our kitchen sink flooded at one point as well... be aware you will smell dog piss everytime you walk out the doors. The laundry room started to smell like sewer water after a while of living there. Good luck finding parking if you dont pay 200$ a month to park in their garage.. With the apartment being next to PSU, having a bar, subway, and sushi place under it. It was really hard to find parking, we sometimes had to circle the block a couple of times. I brought up a concern about someone smoking cigs in the apartment below us but it never got addressed.. Often times when I would come home, the smell of the cigs travelled up into my apartment and made me nauseous. They could at least smoke their cigs outside on their patio so it would have less of a chance of the smell traveling up into our apartment.. I knew they were smoking inside because when I would go outside on my own patio, I would smell nothing. However upon going back inside, it smelled horribly like cigs. Getting our security deposit back has been a pain.. Initially it was just a mistake because it had got sent to the wrong address.. However I still havent received it. My boyfriend was told it had gotten sent out again to the RIGHT address this time. So I followed up today and called the actually company who manages this complex (two coast living) and some guy told me that they have no record of us and someone will call me back???? I'm sorry but how does that make sense, either the guy did not know how to search things up properly or they are withholding our deposit. I am going to wait for the call back and if i still have not received my check within 1-2 months, I will take this to court because as little as the check may be, it still is helpful to have back and would make a difference. It even seems to be an issue when you look at the reviews for this place and even the reviews for two coast living..

I used to pay about 1600 damn near 1700 total for this place, for a 1 bedroom.. for reference one of my rent payments was 1,683.54. That payment included the rent, utilities, and 100 for the parking garage ( we got 100$ off the 200$ it normally was).. Mind you, I now live in a 2 bed apartment and pay around 1600 too and that includes utilities, and the 50$ for parking... make it make sense. Charging an arm and a leg for an apartment like this??? Yea no. Within a couple months of living there, my boyfriend and I had already decided we wanted to move out of there.

I would like to mention that luiel?I believe that is his name and some other maintenance dude were very helpful and the maintenance guy even gave us some tips. So that is the reason...

(UPDATED/ EDITED) Shout out to Serena! She has been SUPER helpful. She’s been super nice and make sure everyone is well taken care of :)

Now the apartment itself. Often times you can hear people yelling outside the streets at night. And one of the elevator has broken for months already. They’ve been improving slowly and we finally got a parking spot. Aside from that nothing too bad just yet :) ALL RIGHT. I’m here to spill the tea ☕️

Few things, let’s start with the infamous elevator. As mentioned, those elevators often don’t work and the freight elevator was kinda broken by the time we moved out (what I mean by that is, it wouldn’t stop on the floor you pressed and it just keeps going, like, where are you taking me!! It’s like those scary movies where the elevator would go out of control or something). Anyways so moving was a pain, and I had my car keys fell into the elevator crack, and I think someone lost their phone? Ask the office about it and they basically said they can’t do anything about retrieving it. And more with the things I mentioned previously, they get random people screaming and yelling downstairs all the time, one time they even broke the glass on the door.

Their parking space is super small (I don’t even have a big car) and it’s $175/month. With leaky entrance (they might’ve fixed it but it was like a waterfall of smelly water) Glad someone had photo of it in the reviews lolol I would strongly advice seeing it for yourself (entertainment purposes)🤣

The package delivery situation was a mess, sometimes in the lobby room, sometimes with the office, sometimes with the security, sometimes in the package room and sometimes.. well, who knows where.

Quite often you get fire alarms, and I get it there’s a lot of residence, but it gets old real quick, especially in the middle of the night.

We lived a few floors up and there were no mesh or screens on the window so bugs gets in All The Time; and seems quite hazardous to pets so we put up some cardboards to block it and they ask us to take it down or else they were gonna fine us or something and when we asked for a reason they didn’t respond. (In the end they didn’t force us or charge us but it wasn’t pleasant getting that random letter)

Also maybe because there were so many people living there but you can get some really weird neighbors. Like a guy who just stares and stands in front of elevator all day and said someone was watching him or after him(?). Once or twice our upstairs neighbor screams like they’re getting mu*dered in the middle of the night lol (talking about heart racing haha) but I guess the apartment couldn’t do much about that.

Last but not least, the rent went from like 1600+ to 1900+ in 3 years (not including utilities or parking) so yeah…

With that said, I guess there ARE some good things about this place. It’s really close to the PSU so if you’re a student maybe that’s a bonus? Some of the securities and janitors are super friendly, and I do miss saying good mornings and have a good day (I said some because one of their security stole my roommate’s phone when he left it at the gym and straight up lie to his face and said he didn’t have it; in the end the security company did pay for a new one) And I really love the Saturday market right up front. So I guess there were good memories so that’s why the 2 stars :///

Oooh, and it took a year to get our deposites back, after like 3...

I lived here for 6 months, I'm a single woman and this was my experience:

ENTRANCES: Front entrance (by waterfall) door handle often broken off, totally unable to open the door even when fob unlocks it. They always did a half ass job fixing it, eventually it was loose and falling off again. Back entrance (by subway) often would have a door jam, it was an issue with the door unlocking, they would just put paper up saying use the front door. Broken glass on sidewalk by back door, they did nothing about it and for weeks it spread ALL OVER the sidewalk and driveway. Be careful if you are walking your dog.

LOBBY/ELEVATORS: Day 1 move in, freight elevator not in use, so I had to use the passenger elevators. Every sat and sun, there was someone moving in or out. The freight elevator never worked. This is frustrating for people who have hired movers and are on a time limit. Of the 2 passenger elevators, only 1 was consistently working. This building has 14 floors. For a few days, NO elevators worked, I felt so bad for the elderly and disabled people who need the elevator. There was at least 1 resident in a wheelchair. Homeless sleeping on sofas in lobby = Amazon packages stolen from lobby.

PARKING: Subbasement garage door broken and stayed open twice during my 6 month stay, each time for a couple days. Garage is extremely dirty, there was dirt and gravel in my spot when I moved in, I swept it up myself. They did not clean when I asked for help with oil leak. They took a note and did nothing about it, and again when I asked a few days later. The public parking on Park, Montgomery, and 10th is NOT safe. I often saw cars with broken windows, of course the glass on the street is never cleaned, once I saw a brick in someone's windshield, parked on corner by FishSan.

OUTSIDE: I once saw a needle without a cap on the sidewalk/curb, I OFTEN saw burnt foil on the grass, so please be careful walking a dog or small children around the South Park Blocks. Large homeless camp on the benches facing front entrance. They have leashed and unleashed dogs. Sometimes PSU police makes them leave in the morning. Often loud "mental crisis" going on, especially at the streetcar station. Plaid pantry experiences armed robbery often, even twice in one day. The store will be temporarily closed at times due to card machine not working.

LAUNDRY: Laundry machines never maintained, very dirty inside washers under rubber lining and obvious smell of mold. $2 to wash and $2.25 to dry. Many machines are out of service and never fixed, the only cleaning they do there is mopping floors once a week.

UNIT: Deadbolt on door was uneven and would jam. I often saw cement chips and dust coming out when opening the door. The "retro" fridge is too small with a tiny icebox freezer, freezer was completely full of ice when I moved in, needed to thaw.
