The McDonaldâs on burnside is the last McDonaldâs remaining in west side downtown Portland. Youâd have to drive to Sw Powell or up to St Johns to find another. It and the Taco Bell just a few blocks north are often the only places offering food downtown between 2 am when the bar kitchens close down and 5 or 6 when the cafes start opening up.
You can expect a mix of homeless folks, gig economy drivers and late night service workers hanging around the walk up area which stays busy throughout the night. The dining room has been closed for the quarantine years. The drive through is always a wait late at night or during any high traffic time of day. Despite this I have frequented this location dozens of times throughout the years as a late night bar industry worker and day sleeper in the nob hill neighborhood; they are usually a highly efficient crew that can get through a rush and give good service even when theyâre obviously understaffed and underpaid for the volume they do here.
The people who write so many negative views about this place donât actually have a problem with the location, they have a problem with the population of downtown Portland and donât like having to see homeless people during their day to day. Thatâs too bad. Iâve been asked for change or money, but never felt unsafe or threatened at any time of night here- being itâs usually one of the well populated places during the late hours where people are always around.
The staff here do an incredible job given the task theyâre given at this high volume late night fast food establishment that stays open longer than most any other...
Read moreEmployees are rude and ALWAYS get your order wrong. They have an attitude if you ask for anything extra or if you ask them to correct their mistakes they made on your order. Their dining room has been closed for over 6 months who knows it will ever reopen. They do have a walk up windows but it's right next to the drive thru windows making it dangerous when people have to wait for their orders they placed at the walk up windows when it is rush hour and busy there. There is virtually no where sage to wait for your number to be called. Your either forced to wait in the actual drive thru itself and scoot yourself as close to the side and out of the way as possible.so you don't get hit or your forced to all clutter up the area where the line is for.the walk up window. Doing this confuses people as you never know who has already ordered and waiting for their food or who is waiting to order but you can't really go anywhere else either because you won't be abke to hear your order be called. It's a mess. And then after dealing with this for however long it takes them ( they purposely take as long as possible) you get your order just for it to be wrong anyways! . But to fix it means you have to deal with the crazy conditions I just described. It's pretty much worthless to try to have them fix it at that point . So you end up mad about the service about the wait and the conditions while waiting and just when you think ah whatever at least I've got my food now things will be all better nope the icing on the cake is you didn't even get what you wanted and waited for in the...
Read moreI really can't believe how horrible and sleezy the people that work at this McDonald's are! What I'm talking about is the fact that I went to order food yesterday which was December 28 2018 and I ordered food and noticed that the price was extremely high for what I had ordered so I paid the money and when I got home I decided to get on Google + check prices for McDonald's various items. I come to find out that I was charged almost double the price of the item that I ordered and when I called the McDonald's I spoke to some man that said he was the manager by the name of Mo. M O is how he spelled his name didn't give me a last name and proceeded to argue with me about the price and I stated that they charged me what they charged me and he said well a double cheeseburger is $3.25 and I told him they charged me $3.50 so they obviously overcharged me by quarter which I'm pretty sure they overcharged me by a heck of a lot more than just a quarter because online a double cheeseburger is $1.69! I will never ever go back to this McDonald's and I am going to tell all of my family and all of my friends never to go back to McDonalds period. Because what I was told by that man MO was that all McDonald's charge different prices which I don't know if that's true or not but I've never come to find this price change anywhere else so a little warning do not go to the McDonald's on West Burnside unless you want to get ripped off and that's just the truth. And I'm extremely upset so I will be going to corporate with this because they're stealing at that's what's...
