Since opening under new management, Wildwood has moved away from corner dive bar towards cozy pub. It's a little better lit, feels less decrepit, all good things.

However, their prices are a bit silly. $8 for a 1.5 oz pour of Jameson, for instance. Their selection leaves a lot to desire as well. They have a few low end bourbons, a few low end Irish, and maybe a blended scotch or two. Not a great beer selection (better than their whiskey choices) but the price for a can of domestic brew isn't too spendy.

All in all, if you're a neighborhood alcoholic then Wildwood has plenty of cheap-ish beer within stumbling distance of a large part of DT Portland. If you're looking for a place to take a date, watch the game with buddies, have a unique and special glass of something, please consider...

Update August 2024: several staff changes and now if you do not personally know the bartender, you do not receive service. Feels a lot like returning to high school and frankly I could happily never repeat that. Go to Kingston or Commodore nearby.

They let go the only truly dedicated, protective employee. It will never be the same. I hope the owners fail and better energy comes along. Or just shutter it altogether. Your crap whiskey and dark corners do not add anything to the community.

The bartenders are so amazing. As a woman who goes out alone sometimes, they make me feel safe and supported, and definitely a bang for your buck on drinks! The crowd can vary, depending on night and time of night, but these people will have your back and make sure everyone at the bar remains...

Before I say anything, I'd like to say that I base my ratings and reviews based off of relativity to similar establishments. In relation to other cheap dive bars, this place is easily a 5 star joint in my book. The Wildood is a no frills and homely type of place. Cheap drinks (about $4 for a well drink and $4.50 for a PBR mini pitcher) and stiff pours!

I've been going here since about a year before the name changed from Tony's Tavern. The average regular is about 50 years old and a raging alcoholic, but the friendly service, cheap prices and the laid back, extremely non-judgemental atmosphere makes up for it and has made Wildwood one of my favorite spots to go to when I'm feeling low-key but still want to sit at a bar, have a drink and watch whatever big sports...

This new bar tender, Rey, will refuse service to your entire group if he personally dislikes one person from the group. He is extremely rude and drives away loyal business. We all work down the street and come frequently to this location. When i asked when the other bar tenders will be returning he replied with "whenever they decide to sober up". Its beyond unprofessional he is just rude. We decided to walk to the dive bar just a few minutes away where we spent our checks and tipped amazingly to the nice bar tenders at the Marathon Tavern.

I recommend this bar because of some of the good people that are there and the good times. Plus they're gambling machines off the hook like I went in there with 40 bucks one time and left with 550. That was awesome! They do have a little selection of food that I do believe nothing too extravagant there have good shots jello shots. I always get the dirty shurely. I like the pool tables free here's a pic of just one of the tickets I've won there
