Excellent bibimbap
I ordered through DoorDash after finding this place is close to Matcha Premium Maiko. Good ratings and I now know why! Two bibimbaps to go: one was tofu and the other was spicy pork.
Spicy pork is not spicy but looks like it is. Good taste, so it’s marinated well and the meat isn’t tough to chew, like some other places. I loved the spicy pork bibimbap though. All fresh ingredients! They give a lot of vegetables, which is so nice, because other places are very sparing with their ingredients. I’m usually left with so much rice at the end. However, this place did a good job giving the right amount of ingredients. They also gave a small cup of miso soup - thank you! Would get this again!
My husband enjoyed his tofu version. If you’re someone who wants spice, add some of the red sauce they give you in a cup. I was very happy the spicy pork wasn’t spicy, but I liked being able to control any spice with...

Reasonable prices?: Most are reasonable, although the $4 price difference for the Tteokbokki vs the cheese Tteokbokki raised some eyebrows.
Most worth: Tteokbokki (and probably the kimbap)
Overall opinion: As a city Korean, I have pretty high standards for Korean food. While I can't speak for their kimbap (it's never been my favorite), a couple other dishes I had were less than optimal. We had the spicy pork, which I assume is supposed to be jeyook bokum (제육볶음) which tasted great at first bite but quickly became too salty. We also had an order of the squid jeon, which tasted more like a squid omelette, leaving a very strange textural experience in my mouth. I will say that the tteokbokki (떡볶이) was great. I could taste a little bit of ramen soup base in the sauce which in my opinion increased the...
Read moreA great casual Korean spot with good prices, portions, and flavors. Even though the restaurant name is Mokdong Gimbap, we tried two main dishes: pork cutlet and seafood soon-tofu. I’ve been craving the style of pork cutlet I used to have in Korea, and it was exactly what we were hoping for—so good! While we were enjoying that, the seafood soon-tofu came out, and it was perfectly seasoned, not bland or off at all. We got the medium spice level, which had a nice kick—perfect if you like real Korean spiciness. The seafood in the soon-tofu was fresh and plenty, and the side dishes were authentic and tasted homemade. The owner was super friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Next time, I’ll definitely try...
