“Then why’d you stiff me?” Less than 15 minutes of being here for a friends birthday bar crawl- •second time ordering a $9 Midori sour I ask for a food menu because I’d like to eat food with my drinks after work. •Sporty looking bartender in a khaki colored “Oregon” hoodie working at bar asks if I’ve worked in food service and I answer yes, grab my drink and walk away thinking “Weird way to flirt but aight.” •I go back to order Mac and Cheese $11 since the line was too long to order again while at the register last time. • I was receiving a direct mean-mug from the first bartender in the hoodie while being served by the second bartender the third time being at register (verified by the party I was with and fellow patrons) •LITERALLY right after paying for the Mac and cheese and tipping $10 in cash the bartender in the hoodie asks: Server “You work in the food industry right?” Me “Yes, I work at Olive Garden.” -literally THEE serving spot. Server “Then why’d you stiff me?” Me “ I just tipped your coworker ten dollars. The tip comes when I’m ready to leave.” Gather my drinks with my party and go back outside to discuss the bafoonery we just witnessed from this Bartender in the hoodie. •When I get served my Mac and cheese I ask if the manager is there (he isn’t’) and I explain my situation to this third employee there. •I spent $29 Plus a $10 tip (which is above the 20% Recommended Tip) and I get harassed by the bartender for “Stiffing”, Not tipping. Bro just like I tell the OG crew, You get back what you put out. We all know that this is a popular post-shift spot for late night food industry workers. Y’all were literally busy. Why am I the one customer you have to beg for tips from? Acting like this is your first time working a Saturday shift smh. GG’s No-RE 🤣👁️👄👁️
No else in my party was spoken to like that. No other patrons present at the venue were spoken to like that. So what about me was it? Why was I the one person you encountered on your shift that had to receive the pent up frustrations of...
Read moreI went to momos with a few friends that were gathering to visit... I had my normal 2 drinks over the course of 2 hours, both drinks were handed directly to me from the bartender and never left my hand even for a second as I usually sip consistently until a drink is finished in public because of risk involved with leaving them unattended. This particular evening it did no good.. the drinks I received from the bartender made me incoherent to the point of not being able to speak or walk... after getting help into the restroom to urinate, I was unable to keep standing and fell hard hitting my head on the bathroom door handle itself and had to get help up and out and back to my seat where I passed out (pretty sure I had a much not concussion from hitting my head) I was in and out of Consciousness and drank water for another hour and a half while continuing to get worse... had my sister come and take me home and was lucky I had that as an option. Moral of this story is DONT TRUST MOMOs Bartenders in my opinion. -We were sitting in a section of the bar where nobody else was besides our group. -my drink came straight from the bartenders hand. -my drink never left my hand and was gone within 10 minutes both times. There isn’t any other explanation for why could’ve happened. Bartender was also very rude after misunderstand my order and me saying it was no problem, I would pay for another and take that as well.. really bad experience! Lucky I didn’t seek legal action against them on this.. still...
Read moreChill joint. Very 90s Portland inside with a surprising patio in the back that would make a pandemic pivot proud! The staff were friendly without being in your way, but chatty enough with the folks at the bar that you got the impression they spent some of their off hours on my side of it. The friendly staff even apologized for the meager menu offerings when I asked. But the kitchen side of the business was doing good things with what they had. Between me and my companions, we got close to half of the offerings and there wasn’t a regret in the group. I’d heard for too long that I needed to cross Burnside and give it a try. Now I’m sorry I put it off as long as I did. If I had and constructive feedback to add it would be that the tables closest to the door out back probably should be designated as non-smoking. Having come of age when smoking in bars was the norm, I’ve become surprisingly intolerant of it some 30-plus years later. I could feel the minimal intrusion of smoke in my eyes and throat before I finished my first drink. So I switched to beer. Bright side, right? Although, the beer could have been a couple degrees colder without hurting my feelings. Nothing that’s gonna keep me from going back or...
