Please read the entire review. Let me start by saying the lady who does my nails is AWESOME-her name is Ann. The rest of it sucks. They lie on their website saying they have chrome and holographic for dip-they do NOT. And that's why I started going there originally so it's super disappointing. I was early for an appt so they tried to put me with someone else to begin with-which I said no to, then they had the guy START to remove my set, just to help out. But he put the acetone on my nails and LEFT ME. That acetone sat on my nails and skin for THIRTY MINUTES. 30 minutes!! My skin burned and I had to ASK someone to remove it. When it finally came off my skin was dry and white and felt angry and tingled in a bad way. So Ann does an amazing job, but I'm not sure if I will be back or not. And the service I've received from the other staff has left a LOT to be desired. They always shuffle me around and seem to be confused about who is doing what and where I should be (and I make appointments in advance). Their website says they offer complimentary drinks too. I've never been offered and I've never seen anyone else have any either. Don't say things on your website if they aren't actually true, offered services. The drinks are whatever, but it specifically says chrome and holographic for dip and they flat out said no when I asked in person, said it's for...

Would never go back here. Me and my friend had an appointment for her birthday. When I got there I was told there were no "nail artists" available, so no designs could be done, only solid color. We intended on getting designs, mine was very simple just 3 lines and she said nobody would do it. How are there 4 people doing nails in the room and nobody knows how to paint 3 lines? I sat down and waited for my friend to arrive, it was about 5 minutes before our appointment. The woman refused to wait for her and said I had to start now. I reminded her that I had made an appointment and it wasn't time yet. She said there are people who have appointments after you, were not waiting for your friend, you're starting without her.. I would have left immediately but my friend had a limited time before she had to be back at work and didn't want to risk not finding somewhere in time. I got a gel manicure, half my manicure chipped and peeled away today. It's been 10 DAYS. Never had a gel mani last less than 2- 2 1/2 weeks. This place is the cheapest on the block for a reason!

Tldr: Horrible customer service, bad quality gel manicure....

To the poor reviews below, who thought service was bad, from a customer. You should take a hard look at yourselves:

  1. you pay for extra, including design and removal at other nail salons
  2. if you don’t have an appointment and you have a service that takes longer, like acrylic, and they have someone booked to come in, they can’t take you, make an appointment in the future!
  3. If you book a full party and go to the incorrect salon, and complain about it on YELP, because you aren’t even caring enough to pay attention, you have serious issues
  4. having to wait while your nails soak off for a dip, is expected - it takes longer than acrylic so 30 minutes isn’t long - every nail place I’ve ever been to does not sit and babysit you while your nails are being soaked off- what a Diva mindset! They have a business to run. All the Karens with unrealistic expectations, who expect something for nothing, is what makes Portland a rude unclassy place to live. I’m positive these jerks would go home, crying in your pillow, if you were a nail tech all day, and had to put up with people like yourselves. !Get a...

Although there were several different options in the area, I decided to go with this place because of the good reviews. I’m glad I did. I received by far the best customer service I have ever received from a nail salon. The technician took his time and was very meticulous. He offered me something to drink and asked me what kind of music I like. I said piano music. Then he changed the salon music to a piano music station (!!), although there was no one else in the salon, so maybe that was why. There was a brief misunderstanding about what kind of nail color I wanted, but the technician apologized and even offered me a five dollar discount for his mistake, even though it was really no big deal (he just had to fix one nail). Also, he did cut the cuticles too close, in my opinion. A couple of my cuticles were red and irritated afterward. Partly my fault for not speaking up. I have had it happen in nail salons before, as my cuticles are naturally thin. Overall, an excellent experience. If my gel manicure holds up over the next couple of weeks, I will definitely be returning.

Just got my nails done and it’s like hidden fees galore. It’s 40 for dip. 47 if they have to take off last dip. Then they charge extra for my length apparently/coffin or almond shape. Let’s be real my nails came out round. Then extra because I got a “design” with couple colors. So now I’m at 57. I don’t feel I should be charged for length/filing when they are hardly considered long nails nor did I have an almond shape nail outcome. I’m also happy they trimmed my cuticles which is not always something I get when receiving a dip manicure. I liked my tech and was happy I had little to no interruptions in service like I’ve had some other places. I think it is never a great experience when you have hidden Costs that are not clearly communicated. I don’t agree with this style being extra for length and shape. Will see if other places in the area do it this way too, normally don’t come to the Pearl for nails.

I got a manicure here about a week ago and all of the gel is already peeling and cracking off the edges. When it was freshly done it looked like my nails had already grown out about a week from how far from the cuticle they began the gel, and some nails have more gel at the base, and some have more at the tips. There was even a piece of fuzz/hair that had been painted into my nail that was obvious once they were cured. I went for a very special occasion and left with a poorly done manicure that I’m needing to re-do in another country. A huge bummer and I unfortunately wouldn’t go back! It felt rushed and sloppy.
