If I could leave less than 1 star, I would!!
We went to this restaurant with my family of 5 and our friends (family of 3). We were quickly "greeted" (quite rudely) to tell us that they could only serve a party of 5 max, despite 3 tables being open. After being told we couldn't sit together, we calmly asked to be seated separately in order to comply with their policy. We were then told that they could not seat a party of 5 and a party of 3. We went back and forth trying to understand why they would not seat a party of 5. The hostess finally told us (again quite rudely) that we were not welcome, and we needed to leave. And when I say rudely, I mean that she was shouting at us and waving her hands at us shooing us away like a dog. Then she simply walked away from us while we stood there aghast. A couple seconds later another man (the owner?) approached us and angrily told us we were not welcome at the restaurant because they can only serve parties of 5. Again, we were shooed out of their restaurant. I was starting to fear that this man was going to call the police on us, that is how angry he was that we wanted to eat at their restaurant.
I will never understand the reasoning behind their rudeness or refusal to seat our families. The only reason I can think of is that they do not want children in their restaurant. Yes. I have a 5, 3, and 1 year old. Yes. They are loud. They are children. But to discriminate against our party solely on the basis of my children's age?!? This is ridiculous!!
We walked out astonished that a small restaurant (that likely survives on tourists like us) 1) could be so utterly rude, 2) would not want to take our money, and 3) be so ignorant of running a business that they would have such a ridiculous policy to begin with. You would rather have 3 empty tables than serve our 2 small parties. We will gladly take our money elsewhere.
If you, like us, are refused service from this abysmal restaurant, we would highly recommend Cuppers next door. They actually WANTED our business! Shocking!!! And Cuppers's food...

Read moreI wanted to be measured in this review, but it's difficult, because I've just eaten the best breakfast I've ever had. The sign out front says, "Voted best breakfast in the Quad Cities (Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley and Dewey-Humboldt, but this is hands-down the best breakfast cafe in the state. (I grew up in the Phoenix metro area, and my wife and I have eaten our way across Arizona. Again, trying to avoid the hyperbole.)
You MUST get the breakfast burrito with green chile brisket, covered in sausage gravy. It was a) giant, and b) a masterpiece. Most places overwhelm the dish with the special ingredient (green chile in this case). But this had perfect balance; you pick up all the flavors. It's likely you'll take some of it home. It's guaranteed you'll finish it there.
Service: Quick, friendly and utterly competent. All the staff there are present; they're focused on you and your satisfaction.
Atmosphere: Bustling but far from deafening. The cafe faces Montezuma street (just south of the courthouse square); it is light & airy.
We love the St. Michael and the Dinner Belle, but I'm not sure we'll eat anywhere else when we're here; at least till we've tried everything on the menu.
If you're doing a weekend in Prescott, you'll be committing a crime if you don't eat breakfast...
