Bird Cage Saloon — Restaurant in Prescott

We were not expecting a dive bar experience when we visited The Bird Cage Saloon Friday night. There was a DJ who played a range of music everyone seemed to enjoy. We were caught off guard that it was a cash only establishment and didn't realize till we placed our order so it was a good thing we had cash on hand (which is rare for us). The bartenders were a bit overwhelmed due to over crowding but they did an excellent job serving everyone. The Bird Cage was a bit too small to accommodate the large crowd that evening, the dance floor was FILTHY and we witnessed several younger guys pulling beer cans out of their pockets after just walking in. We went in Sunday afternoon, they asked us to wear masks at the bar even though we were sitting and ordering, no one else but her had a mask on. We put them on and my husband said it he didn’t agree with it but put it on anyways and the bar tender told us to get out for simply not agreeing with wearing a mask even though we complied. We weren’t rude or anything just made a statement literally saying I don’t agree with wearing a mask while sitting and ordering but ok. Then she yelled at us to get out. The bar tender had an attitude from the moment we walked in and was very rude. Every other establishment we went to said to wear a mask on entrance we get its not a problem with us we went several places and this was the only place that had a rude bar tender and asked us to wear a mask while sitting...

The Bird Cage is an absolute gem. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of energy. The drinks were well-crafted and consistently good, and the bartender was impressively fast, efficient, and attentive—even during the busy hours.
