Best Steaks and Seafood in Provincetown are at Vorelli's Restaurant
In the center of Ptown, on Commercial Street, is Vorelli's Restaurant, right next to Cape Tip Sports. For the four of us, it was another wonderful evening in Provincetown, sitting at Connie's bar. The menu features steaks of Angus beef and fresh local seafood. Starting off, we ordered Terry's original and famous Bloody Mary, created by Terry with her own spices and Infused Vodka, and then served by Connie with a spicy green bean garnish. Connie's signature creation is a Chocolate Covered Martini - so good - it's like having dessert before your dinner!
For appetizers, we chose Vorelli's Clam Chowder, made with generous and juicy local clams, potatoes, milk, cream and spices - delicious! Another good choice was the fresh Oysters on the Half Shell appetizer, also harvested locally in nearby Wellfleet. The Smoked Salmon was covered with prosciutto, capers and olive oil on a bed of lettuce - quite good. We also got to taste the Russian Oysters appetizer of fresh oysters topped with sour cream and caviar - superb!
For dinner, dig into a Filet Mignon Black Angus - a half pound of scrumptious beef - and simply the most tender cut of beef around. Another great beef dish here is the Sirloin Steak Diane - a generous Sirloin served with a mushroom and brandy steak sauce.
For seafood lovers, go for the Seafood Pasta dish, with fresh local fish, clams, shrimp and sautéed lobster, served over linguine, and topped with your choice of three sauces: Scampi Garlic, Marinara and, my own personal favorite, Lobster Cream. Another seafood dish we would have to recommend is the Pan Seared Crab Cakes - using a House Recipe and featuring Maryland crab meat served with a creamy bistro sauce and tropical fruit salsa - also superb!
The best value in town is the Lobster Roll at $19.95 - served with 5 ounces of local, fresh lobster meat and an infused mayonnaise with lettuce. No hot dog rolls here, but a larger and toasted soft roll.
For desserts, try the New England favorite, Apple Crisp with a streusel topping and covered with French Vanilla ice cream. Each day, a small batch of traditional Crème Brule, a superb custard dessert, is made. Order early, as these sell out every evening.
For after-dinner indulgence, Connie has assembled a nice selection of single malt Scotch and Añejo Tequila. Connie also makes three different Absinthe concoctions, served in the traditional manner with sugar and special Absinthe spoon.
Provincetown has many fine restaurants, and we always make the right decision in coming back to Vorelli's. You will love the warm atmosphere of cozy booths made with wood veneer, stained glass and art by local Ptown artists. You will leave raving about the wonderful food and good time enjoyed. Vorelli's should be your first stop, among the so many choices of Provincetown...
Read moreVorelli’s offers a welcoming atmosphere to all, whether you’re a day-tripper, returning vacationer, or longtime local. It’s located in a lively area of Provincetown; yet offers a respite from the bustling street scene. Connie dispenses a wealth of local information from behind the bar. She shares her knowledge of attractions and places to visit with all. The tourism office should offer her a position. In recent years, the restaurant has offered smaller portions of popular dishes. Most people would be satisfied with the smaller portions. My wife and I started our meal with a dozen fresh Wellfleet oysters. I ordered a smaller portion of the shrimp scampi, and was very happy with my meal. My wife ordered surf and turf from the special menu. It consisted of filet mignon and exquisitely seasoned shrimp. Several other patrons had the same dish, and all remarked how tasty it was. If you’re looking for good conversation and a friendly atmosphere, Vorelli’s is...
Read moreHave eaten here before and it was decent. BUT...last night we ordered the night's special - a porterhouse medium-rare. It came out half well done and half medium well. The waiter actually asked me what I wanted to do about it - send it back, of course. Then, the manager asked me to follow her to the kitchen where the light was better...sure enough you could see how well done it was. She also asked me what would I like to do about it...Seriously?? Like it was my issue they did not cook as ordered. They did cook another steak - but don't fault your customer for your kitchen's lack of performance. In addition, my honey ordered the center cut sirloin...the cut of meat served was cheap and tough. We've crossed Votelli's off our list of Ptown...
