After having gone to the 7 Brothers in Laie without my husband, I wanted to take him to 7 Brothers as we passed through Provo. It was quite good!
We ordered the Paniola Burger, Deep Blue Burger and Paniola Fry.
The Paniola Burger is definitely like the signature Burger there. It has big, fat, crispy onion rings, pineapple, American cheese, bacon, and their bbq sauce on it. It was definitely a tall, messy, somewhat difficult burger to eat—but it was quite good. I did, however, feel that since it was so tall with so much stuff, it seemed like it needed a little more sauce/moisture and flavor in some places. Overall, a pretty good burger though.
I liked the Deep Blue Burger best for sure. Blue cheese burgers are kind of hit and miss for me, but I really enjoyed this one. The amount of crumbed blue cheese was just right paired with the Swiss cheese, bacon and all the sauces (house, BBQ and ranch). Perhaps having this saucy, flavorful burger next to the Paniola is what made that one feel too dry and not flavorful enough.
The Paniola Fry was decent, though I liked it a lot better in Laie. Probably not fair to compare though. These are not traditional fries, but sliced potatoes fried with grilled pineapple, bacon, caramelized onions, melted cheese, BBQ sauce and a couple of onion rings. I think what I felt was missing is that there was very little crispness to the fries—they were mostly like cooked potatoes topped with those other things—and all of the flavors didn’t meld as well as they did when I got them in Hawaii. Still quite good, but I would especially have appreciated it if they were more crispy, perhaps even thinner cut potatoes.
One thing that was not a plus was that the ice machine was not working. Definitely not a point in their favor on a hot summer day, but I know it happens.
Also, just want to mention that they only have one single user bathroom for everyone. It does have a changing table, which is nice, but it could be tricky to use the restroom when needed when the restaurant gets busy.
The service was good. They were kind and helpful and the food came out pretty quickly. Probably only waited 10 minutes.
Overall, a good experience. I’d probably come again when...
Read moreI hate doing this kind of thing and being a Karen, but I love this place and don't want to see it become something terrible. Normally, this place is awesome! This time? It was awful. The fries were very overcooked, or totally burnt, with little to no seasoning. The burger was a travesty. I ordered the Shem which, as per the menu, comes with guacamole, bacon, melted American cheese and house sauce. The burger came disheveled. The guacamole wasn't even on the burger, it was thrown on to the side of the serving tray. The cheese was clearly thrown on as an after thought and wasn't melted, it was also kind of cold. There was barely any sauce on it at all. I guess the bacon was fine? The whole thing was practically tasteless. Again, I hate complaining but for $17 I don't want to get the equivalent of what they handed out for Fyre Fest
The worst part of the experience wasn't even the food, which was terrible, it was the fact that the entire staff working were teenagers goofing off the whole time and only the person grilling the burgers seemed to be doing his job (which is ironic, given that the food was terrible). Obviously, having fun at work is a good thing! But shortly after I arrived, a group of about 15 teenagers showed up who were clearly all friends with the staff. The staff quit working to go chat with their friends and even let the teenagers behind the counter to where the food was being made (I took a picture for proof but won't post it for the sake of privacy). This wasn't even just briefly. It was the entire I was there eating for maybe half an hour. One of the teens had a squirt gun for some reason...? One of the girls working quit what she was doing to hand out some kind of flyer to all her friends and talk to them for a while. The only reason I gave an extra star for service is because the staff was actually very nice and friendly to my...
Read moreI had the pleasure of being served by Sam at 7 Brothers, and I have to say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment I walked in, Sam greeted me with a genuine smile and positive energy that immediately set the tone for the meal. It’s clear that he truly enjoys what he does and cares about every single guest’s experience.
What really stood out about Sam was how attentive without being overbearing he was. He made sure our drinks never ran low, checked in at just the right times, and anticipated things we might need before we even asked. It didn’t feel like routine service—it felt personal, like he wanted us to have the best possible experience. He knew the menu really well and gave excellent recommendations, explaining the different options with enthusiasm. The suggestion he gave ended up being spot-on, and it made the meal even more enjoyable.
Another thing I appreciated was how efficient he was even though the place was busy. You could see he was handling multiple tables, but he never once made us feel rushed or overlooked. Everything came out on time, our orders were perfect, and he double-checked to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. That level of consistency is rare and deserves to be recognized.
Beyond just the technical side of service, Sam created a warm, welcoming atmosphere. He was personable, easy to talk to, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. You don’t always get that kind of hospitality, and it made the whole dining experience stand out from the rest.
Overall, Sam went above and beyond what I expected. If you’re going to 7 Brothers, I highly recommend asking for him. His service really elevates the restaurant and makes an already great place even better. I’ll definitely be coming back, and Sam is a...
