It was great before they switched locations to be in the Riverwoods. It has really fallen off since then. The sandwiches are no longer consistent and generally err on the side of an incredibly low amount of meat and are often too dry due to the lack of cheese.
I use to be completely full after one sandwich. I can literally eat 2 easily now due to the new portions. They also changed their policy from 1 free sauce for the regular and 2 for the large to only 1 free sauce per sandwich and charge for any more. They increased their sandwich price about the same time they did that as well.
I even had a staff member give me a weirdly snarky reply when I asked if I could get more sauces the first time I went back after the policy change not realizing that had happened. Didn't understand the attitude from him as I didn't have an attitude when I had asked for them.
It seems pretty obvious they are trying to cut costs by decreasing portion sizes and upcharging for everything they can.
I used to come almost weekly but no longer come here unless friends I'm with are really craving a cheesesteak. If I'm ever up in Lehi though I'll hit up the DP's there as they still make an amazing sandwich. If this location could bring back the old magic I would...

I visited DP in Provo for the first time on a whim while driving by. The interior of the restaurant is clean, with plenty of seating space.
As I got to the order counter I made a last minute pivot and ordered the pastrami instead of a cheesesteak because, well, I love pastrami.
I didn't have to wait long before my sandwich was ready. But here's where things go sideways. The sandwich was DROWNED in sauce. As in, each time you take a bite, mustard and mayo is exploding into your mouth and also out of the back of the sandwich. Messy, overpowering, unnecessary.
After about the 3rd sloshy bite, I had to open the sandwich and scoop out sauce with a napkin. Not a pleasant experience.
Just wasn't a well made sandwich. Good ingredients, bad sandwich making. Once I cleaned the thing up it was fine, but still quite disappointing for a lunch stop that's supposed to be a step above all those national sandwhich chains that cost less.
I don't mean to be "saucy" here, but I don't anticipate spending my lunch here again...
Read moreI was driving up by Lehi and very hungry. I saw a nearby competitor advertising Philly cheesesteak and was instantly craving Philly cheesesteaks! So I pulled off the highway and headed to the restaurant! When I got there, it was closed. So I googled nearby cheesesteaks and found DP Cheesesteaks! I pulled in and gave my order to one of the nicest employees I’ve ever dealt with, he recommended the cream cheese cheesesteak and I would also recommend it. Mid cooking the food, the employee asked me if I like root beer, when I said yes he gave me a free drink, saying “you need a root beer which one of these! It’s really good!” I took one sip and he was right, the root beer was incredible! It reminded me of my grandmothers homemade recipe! He got my food out promptly and I excitedly unwrapped my new present! One bite and I was hooked! Honestly the best Cheesesteak sandwich I’ve ever eaten! Looking forward to eating there many times to come. Great experience, great employee, even...
