Worst run establishment in Queen Creek.
We have not been to a Dave & Buster's in a while. Last time we did was in Tempe before the QC location was even thought of.
When we entered, there was no hostess present. We assumed we could seat ourselves since there was no sign to wait to be seated. But seating was full, and they blocked off an entire section for Dad games for Father's day. So we searched around for someone to ask. The waitress we finally found was complacent and lead us back up to the host, who was finally there (we saw later they had her busing tables too, so that is why she wasn't there). So we put in for a table and were told we'd have to wait 10-15 mins.. ok fine.
My daughter bought a play card through the app and when she asked the hostess how to use it, she had no idea and told us to go all the way back to another girl. But that girl scanned her phone and said there was a problem but that she could maybe scan her phone on the games, or she could get the manager. By this time there was a long line forming behind her so she gave in to the pressure and said she'd just try to scan her phone.. except we never got that far.
As we were about to give up on this place, our table was ready, we were seated at the worst table in the place. Waited 15 mins for a waitress. She finally showed, took our order, brought our drinks, and then vanished. We noticed she never brought my wife her play card from the combo she ordered.... 30 mins later she came back only to tell us we had been sitting there the entire time for nothing. Our order somehow was "deleted" and she'd have to take it again. She offered the manager but at this point we had been there for an hour and hadn't eaten or played a single game. We were just done.
There is no clear direction for customers. The staff is overwhelmed, not knowledgeable ( everyone on staff should know how their restaurant works, especially the hostess). And they don't seem to care about customer service. Never going back.
Update: We called the number in the comment from them below and left a voice mail as instructed. No one ever...
Read moreWe went for a date night with some friends. We ordered the garlic fries as an appetizer. They cost $10 and were maybe the size of a large fries at McDonald's. For dinner, my wife and I ordered the salmon and chicken wings with a Cesar salad. Our friends ordered wings and the Manchago chicken. The food took so long that the manager came out and apologized, stating they were waiting on the wings. They brought out only three of the entrees, with our friend waiting around another 5 minutes for his wings to come out. I never got my Cesar salad and had to ask again for it. That did not come out until after I was finishing the wings. The Cajun wings tasted like salt and butter while the Nashville hot tasted nothing of the sort. The size and cook of the wings, however, were very good.
The real frustration came when paying for the bill. They bring a POS system to the table and have both bills on one. Our friends were charged $4 for soda water. Our friends tried to pay with a gift card for half their bill. When they did that, the server said they system cleared their whole bill. Then we went to pay. Our bill showed $48 dollars with another $40 being added for taxes. That's 83% tax. The server said the system just added the rest of the last bill to ours, and it just showed it as tax. That obviously did not make sense. When the manager came over, he explained that the system just didn't work well. When we just settled to pay the remaing bill, he left the table with our cards and came back with receipts which stated gratuity had already been included in the bill, which we had not added any gratuity, They just added it. Overall horrible...
Read moreUpdate 2: I received a reply from the customer service department. It was a very carefully worded response of, "Yep, we upped our prices! Sorry we forgot to tell you, have a wonderful day." Its a response... But not sure why I was asked to reach out to them in the first place. IF we go back, I will update my review again. It's sad though we love Dave and Busters and I have spend thousands of dollars there in the last 7 years we've been going. Now I just don't see the value, and my kids left frustrated, so we may not return. Update 1: per request I have submitted feedback via their online form. Please note that limiting the response to 500 characters doesn't make much sense. But it's done. I will update again, when and if they respond ..... We love D&B, but the prices increase again recently as well as ticket redemption values, and per game prices. This really makes an outing for a family of 4+ to be quite pricy. We used to be able to have a blast for around $150 including food and tip. This last visit we spent more than that and didn't really have much fun. I feel like it was a fair price before this latest increase, now it's hard to justify any day other than Wednesday (as long as they keep the half price games Wednesdays).
💰💰💰Overall it's fun and exciting, just a big expense. But what isn't...
