Busy but excellent and worth it. Jubala was recommended by a friend from the area and based on this recommendation she hit a home run. There’s the typical order at the counter, take a number and be seated ordering process so nothing exciting there. The lady that took our order was really nice and helpful.
We opted for country ham and cheese biscuit, toasted chipeas on toast and a honey latte. The honey latte and chickpeas on toast are worth going back for. The biscuits were good but I think everyone expects a little something different than what is served. I think it’s a little bit of a cross between a plain scone and biscuit. The country ham and cheese biscuit was just okay. A little pricey for what it was. The chickpeas and toast was busting with flavors and very filling. There’s not only toasted chickpeas but also tahini and olive oil. Both tasted very high quality.
Overall, great experience and I’ll probably go back today for the honey latte and chickpeas and toast. Like I mentioned the place was super busy so not the typical quiet coffee house vibe but great for conversation alongside really good...
Read moreI’m generally a fan of Jubala and I really like the one in Layfayette village so we decided to give the one in North Hills a try. It was a huge disappointment. When we first walked in everyone seemed to be staring at us for some reason which made us feel a bit uncomfortable and the atmosphere wasn’t very pleasant or welcoming. The staff also weren’t that great which was surprising because they seem to be a lot friendlier at the Lafayette village one. Something just seemed to be off about this shop. After waiting about 20 minutes for our order they didn’t even get it right. I ordered an iced honey latte but they didn’t even add the honey which was annoying. However, the main reason why this experience was so negative was because my sister who’s very lactose intolerant, ordered a coffee with oatmilk and they didn’t even tell us which coffee was which when we got our order. So she ended up accidentally drinking the coffee with regular milk and got very sick after. This is very upsetting and I will not be coming back to this shop if I can help it. Jubala you...
Read moreI had a wonderful visit to Jubala’s new location in the North Hills area of Raleigh. This location is conveniently placed right off the common area near Midtown Green. All staff members were friendly and helpful, and I was very impressed with the customer service. My pour over coffee tasted great, and the presentation on a board with the carafe was impressive. Also, for $6, I got a pretty large amount of coffee. The biscuit was a wonderful fluffy consistency. It was not crumbly nor flakey. As an Appalachian, I felt I needed to get mine with apple butter, and it tasted great. However, the real star of the show was the waffle. It is made with dough instead of batter, and this gives it a texture which is difficult to describe…but the taste was wonderful! For being there on a Sunday morning (during the opening week) there was a lot of foot traffic in and out, and everyone seemed very pleased. Personally, I look forward to visiting again and trying more menu items. Jubala is a great asset to this...
