My wife and I joined the Cardinal community in March 2017. From the very first day, we knew that we had made the right decision to come here. We had seriously considered The Cypress, Springmoor, Capital Oaks, Atria Oakridge and lots of other in the Triangle area but everything pointed us back to The Cardinal. A number of things were important to us: • Everything’s in one building. No outside walking to dining, exercise, social events. • Underground parking (at no charge) • No buy-in with substantial up-front money. This being our first move from owning our own home, The Cardinal’s no up-front investment made the decision easier compared with The Cypress-type purchase options. • It’s a CCRC – We’re healthy now but as we age, The Cardinal has excellent assisted living, skilled nursing and dementia facilities right here for us. • Upscale apartments with lots of high-end features
Now that we’re living here, we find other items important to us that we never thought about before the move: • A staff that continues to do whatever it can to make us happy. Smiling employees who call us all by name give me a feeling of belonging to a community, not just living in an apartment. • Social interaction with other residents is encouraged by the staff through a multitude of organized activities. We’ve made lots of new friendships (sometimes making it hard to keep up with our old friends). When we moved here, we joined an active community, not just to an apartment complex. • Senior living is expensive but we get a lot for our money. If it ever came to it, I’d cut expenses elsewhere before I’d leave The Cardinal. I woke up that first morning I was here and felt so lucky to have made the move. I continue to feel that way and it’s a wonderful way to...

Read moreWarning! If you’re looking for a Senior living center please skip this place. You would have a cleaner experience at a redroof. I went to visit a love one in the east tower and I was disgusted by the conditions of this place. My love one has a bit of a hard time walking their dog so I was shocked to see the elevator wasn’t working. Then as we exit to take their dog out I was in disbelief on how many roaches I’ve seen. I decided I wanted to talk to a manager. A man named Brian was pointed out as I approached him he was finishing a conversation with a black woman, they were using obscene language. The professional environment this is not. I told Brian about the roaches and he was very short about my concerns and said verbatim “ what the hell do you want me to do about the roaches on the bottom floor” I decided to walk away from this whole conversation. Instead I’ve contacted the State health department, my local...
