My first thought as soon as I took notice that this was a brand new Doughnut Shop Open for business I was very excited and couldn't wait to purchase my first item being that I live in community. As soon as I walked in I saw the different variety of flavored doughnuts and from the window appearance my first thought was ok very nice they look tasty couldn't wait to try one a nice black young lady waited on me she was very sweet she told me the flavor of each doughnut I purchased 4 different doughnuts for $20 not a problem because I figured that I was going to get my money's worth but that was not the case. I purchased to go and by the time I got home right across the street I was ready to sample and I was a bit disappointed my doughnuts were not fresh it was as if they came from the fridge from the day before and they just sat them out hoping to sell them out first thing in the morning because it was 8:30am when I stopped in and took notice that they were open. I paid cash for my order my total was $21.01 so I handed the cashier $25 in cash I gave her two tens & a five dollar bill and she gave me back all change in nickels dimes pennies and quarters and stated they didn't have ones in the register so I said fine not a problem and I took notice how the customers who were already dining in and on line before me they gave me this look as if I couldn't afford to pay my bill and I thought that was very awarked because all of them were white and they looked at me like I was some poor black person off the street because I was wrapped up nice and warm just getting off of work 3rd shift and it was cold outside. But I didn't pay the stares no attention I just wanted to hurry home so that I could eat my doughnuts and as soon as I bit into my doughnut the glaze was hard as glass and the doughnut was a bit rough so I tried the next doughnut stuffed peanut butter & chocolate not the best My first thought immediately was Stuck with Krispy Kreme because I use to be the manager of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and there doughnuts are way better and always fresh. I definitely will not be going back and I was looking so forward to celebrating this new Doughnut location in my neighborhood but sorry...
Read moreOur experience must have been very different from most. We came here due to all of the great reviews, but we were so disappointed.
When we came in, we were super confused, despite knowing that the donuts were supposed to be inside Idle Hour Coffee, because we could not find where they were. The donuts are in this tiny little case in the back corner behind the cash register, and super hard to see.
Once we found them, we began looking and trying to decide what to get. As people ordered in front of us, we realized that customers were asking for and getting donuts that were not listed on the donut case, and customers were being told that they did not have donuts that were listed on the case. Therefore, what was written was not an accurate representation of what they had, totally fine.
What wasn't fine was the way that the workers seemed increasingly frustrated as people continued to ask for donuts they didn't have, and for having to go to the case and tell customers what was available. If the workers were kind and just didn't have time to update the case then fine, but don't be upset with the customer for not knowing what is and isn't available.
The donuts themselves weren't good at all. They were way too rich and too had too much going on. We didn't even finish them because we didn't like them. The price was not worth the experience or the taste of the donuts. Would recommend Baker's Dozen over this...
Read moreThese donut appear to be Devine, thats where Devine died. The are anything but devine! The donuts are sold individually, menu shows no pricing by the half or whole dozen. When staff was asked about a price for a dozen she stated "they are sold individually up to a dozen and then depending on what you have chosen depends of how much a dozen will cost" They are not what one would expect for a $6 donut. I ordered Dubai pistachio donut($6) this donut was filled with a pale green substance. The worker rudely explained it was pistachio filled cream, however, it didnt taste like any pistachio I have ever tasted. The chocolate topping that she said was pistachio topped didn't even taste like pistachios. The chocolate tasted pretty terrible too. I order a total of 6 donuts that cost $27. It was a complete waste of money. Not even my teenagers would eat them! My teenagers eat EVERYTHING especially sweets and they do not even like these donuts! That should speak volumes to everyone in my opinion. If the teens don't even like it then it isn't that decent. My advice if you must try this place would be to purchase one and try it first BEFORE you buy any more. That way you know what your spending your money on before you waste $27 like I...
