3.5 stars The place was not bad it was good. I think it could have been better if we would have gotten a better cook.the other Cooks at other tables were more lively entertaining and seemed to be interacting more with their table.unfortunately our cook was quiet the whole time and didn't do any of the other things that the other Cooks were doing to present while they were cooking, which is part of the reason you go to these types of restaurants.
Now I always use benihana as the standard in comparison this place is just a step below but that doesn't make it bad. the tables are larger and there's more space in between the other so you're not as crowded. The lighting is better not too bright and not too dark. Our server was friendly and attentive oh, she did have some issues with the system when it came to the bill but everything worked out. As far as the food was concerned for the most part everything was good the shrimp the vegetables the Miso soup and salad are all on par with Benihana in maybe even a step above. The only thing that isn't as good, and I think it might be attributed to our chef and not so much the recipe was the fried rice. The other thing that stood out was the sauce for the meat which was a mayonnaise-based sauce and it was not good. The other sauce which was a ginger based sauce for the vegetables and shrimp was very good. The ribeye and colossal shrimp meal that I ordered was good. The Colossal shrimp are big and well-seasoned and we're great, but the rib I should have been seasoned more and had may be cooked with butter. The prices are reasonable and a little less than Benihana. The menu is expansive and has more options then Benihana. So aside from the few minor things and I would need to go back and try it again to see if it's the norm or if it was just this particular chef. I enjoyed it my family enjoyed it so overall I'd give it a 3.5 Stars and would recommend...
Read moreThis is no reflection on the workers but rather the management and seating policies. We gave this place another chance after previously being there large parties two times previously. We were told we would have to be split due to the 10 per table accommodation, so that was understandable. What wasn't understandable is that we had to wait close to 2 hours for our split parties to be seated. To make things worse, our parties were split from one corner to the other, this being after requesting if they could somehow put us in a table adjacent to the other party, which we were told it all depends of the tables available, but yet empty tables were visible adjacent to our first party which were later filled with other parties?? This last Saturday we were there again, with a large party and we were again told the same thing, our first split party was seated but our second party had to wait over an hour to be seated and again in an opposite side of the floor again! This time however there was table next to our first party that the waiters made extension for a large party of over 10 and we noticed that, when we asked how that group could get seated but yet we had to be split, the staff said " oh you need to make reservations" REALLY??? Yet you call them over the phone and they tell you, "we don't do reservations"?? Is this favoritism or some kind of inconsistency?? Again I believe in another chance, as this was our 3rd time there since November 2021 but this will be the last time our family goes there. I do not recommend this place for large groups, and in my opinion their seating / waiting policy is...
Read moreI’ve been going here since it’s been open as it’s a bit closer than the Laverne location. I’ve never posted but just had a bad experience and won’t be coming back to this location.
A chef named Chava served us yesterday. There were three parties at the table, one 4 person Hispanic family and two parties of two who werent Hispanic.
Chava gave all of the extra rice and goodies to the Hispanic father and son, who were too busy arguing about the son watching porn and getting caught to even enjoy themselves.
I got MAYBE 1/2 of the amount of vegetables as the Hispanic father and it was almost all onions, 3 small pieces of zucchini while the Hispanic father was sitting with a mound of all the good stuff from the Hispanic chef. The other couple, who were also non Hispanic minorities didn’t get very much either.
Like I said, I’ve been going there forever and tip really well. In my life I’ve given a $0 tip twice…Chava got nothing and I’m sorry to the waitress who was really nice for this clown ruining it for you.
At the end of the day, do what you like…I hope that family...
