Pho Viet Restaurant — Restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga

If I were rating this restaurant based on the 'FOOD,' they're well-deserved for at least an easy 4.5+ stars from me. It's also my 1st go-to Vietnamese restaurant whenever I visit Ontario Mill or around the area. Apparently, things might have shifted a bit. (NOTE: IF YOU ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEIR FOOD AND DON'T MIND THE REST("SERVICE"), please disregard this review!) So if you scroll down and look at other recent reviews (post covid era), their main issue is the CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am okay dealing with a non-smile 'order taker' since I know it will rarely happen in this type of Asian-own restaurant. However, I couldn't stand a waiter (it could be the owner himself) taking the wrong order (and missing dishes), and I had to remind him in the middle of my dining. He then acted as if I had never ordered it before. What was even bugging me was his look -- like I owed him a hundred thousand dollars, and he wanted it back right now. Absolutely NO SERVICE AT ALL. So what's up with that? Because of his mistake, to begin with, he thought I ordered way less for a table of three. I couldn't even ask for an extra empty cup until I walked over to the counter and REALLY asked for it. What's up with that? I Googled 'Pho' & 'Vietnamese' restaurants around the area; 10+ other places popped up for me to choose from. I can certainly take my business elsewhere if the owner thinks he opened this place for 'fun.' And sorry, I must tell everyone about my real experience before others encounter the same incident. 2-star is the most I can rate for this place as...

Every single time I come here, and I do mean every single time, this place manages to do something that upsets me: fingers in my bowl as the server gave us our dishes man comes to scold me about taking the onions out of the soup and I should have told them but forgot. servers understand very little English so anything outside of pointing to the number you want on the menu—— expect for your order to be messed up there is rarely anyone around to ask for help or pay for your meal. they expect a tip and has followed me outside to ask me why I didn’t tip and I told him the above reasons. He was still upset. even if you write down your order and show it I don’t think they can read and will charge you for the # they saw and not see it’s the 1/2 order and last but not least the tables are always sticky and there’s no AC in the place. Just fans.

I like some of their food but my main dish is now PLAH 😵‍💫 instead of pho. It’s now tasteless and oily and barely any meat and with the price hikes- not worth the headache for even take out. They managed to mess take out too.

Be-aware if you have a Peanut Allergy

In short, I ordered a dish and wound up poisoned. I have been aware of my allergy and dutifully check every menu for any allergy information. At this place they did not bother to mention what had peanuts and what did not. After receiving my dish I then noticed it had peanuts.

I alerted the waiter and he acted like it was the biggest problem ever to give me a dish that wouldn't poison me. He left and came back, I thought everything was ok, I was wrong. I ate most of the dish and as I reached the bottom I discovered that they had removed the peanuts and flipped the dish upside down. I could feel the tell tale signs of anaphylaxis and realized that they hadn't even tried to comply to my request.

If you go here, be aware, they do not care about your allergy and will actively poison you through laziness. I cannot recommend a place that cares so little for it's customers. There are PLENTY of great places to eat in Rancho. Do yourself a favor, ...
