I had a very disappointing experience at El Pollon today. I came in and was waiting for my order to be taken when the man working the cashier (with a clear attitude) told me to ask one of the women serving food to take my order instead. She even told him herself, “If he’s in the cashier position, he should be taking it,” then, a customer who arrived after me was helped by him immediately! He was friendly and talkative with that person, but completely dismissive toward me. On top of that, there was an offer shown on the menu today that he didn’t include in my total. He was actually trying to charge me more than the advertised price and when I told him to put the offer he said he had no clue. Very unprofessional.
Edit: I wrote this review on behalf of someone I know who had a bad experience and didn’t feel comfortable speaking up. After posting it, two of your employees named Isabel and Pedro contacted the customer through social media, pleading and threatening them to delete it within 24 hours. This is harassment. No staff should privately contact customers over reviews. People have every right to share their experiences on platforms like Google. That’s the whole purpose of reviews. Especially when they feel unsafe addressing them in person. The review included a photo showing what happened, like many others do. We will not...
Read moreI've been to several of these style of Peruvian rotisserie chicken places, all very similar. We had the family meal #3 that had 2 chickens and 6 sides to go. Service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and polite. The food came out very fast (drive-thru speed). Here is the rankings compared to similar chicken places:
Chicken - 6/10 OK flavor. Somehow dry and soggy at the same time. It was missing something.. or maybe a couple somethings.
Sides: *Red Potatoes - 6/10 Cooked perfectly and a nice texture. Needed seasoning..a lot of seasoning (this is a theme)
*Peruvian Rice - 4/10 Dry, bland, and nothing but a ln even more blank canvas than white rice but with more calories.
Plantains - 7/10 Not bad. Sweet and cooked well.
Mixed Veggies - 2/10 Eww... ZERO seasoning. I think they even kept them clear of the salt shaker. Overcooked... mushy.. Nope.
Yuca -- 7/10 At least salt them a little... but nice.
Black Beans -- 7.5/10 Very nice. Good flavor. A little seasoning once again could make these pop.
Probably won't be back here. The staff was awesome and the place was very clean in a nice location. Price was VERY reasonable. They need to tweak what they have a little and it would be a good regular rotation restaurant for...
Read moreWhat a great little place! Staff are smiling and friendly and the food is incredible. I can see why my son pops down here every Wednesday for dinner. Their green sauce is fresh and spicy. The sides are great too, must try the plaintains and Peruvian rice. Normally, I don't really care much for chicken, but their peruvian chicken is delicious. It's not like anything I have had before. The carne asada is also great. A new fav restaurant in Ranson!
I actually plan trips just so I can be here on Wednesday, when they run their whole chicken special. Isabel is wonderful. She has an incredible memory. The staff here are happy and smiling, some of the nicest people you will meet. Usually, only owners are this friendly so it is a real testament to the owners that their staff is...
