Have been going to this McD location since 2014. A group of Baby Boomers meet every Wed for coffee, had always been at this McDonalds and enjoyed it a lot until the dreaded Kiosk was installed and our satisfaction evaporated into thin air. First, it was a steep learning curve for some; we had to ask employees to assist us. Then it got a little easier because an employee was usually close by. Finally the employees were all behind the counter and if we needed help we had to go to the counter and get the attention of an employee and ask for assistance. Several times we were told that the employee did not know how to use the kiosk! WHAT??? Does it seem rather insane to you?? Well, it did to our group. The process was NOT smooth. We tried, we really did, to keep coming back but it just wasn't the same friendly, easy, breezy process of ordering, enjoying our food, having a manager come around to see how things were. So we started meeting somewhere else for koffee. A couple of the folks wanted to go back to McD because it was "cheaper", which it is not, depending which establishment you are at. But we went back today because there were 2 folks who really wanted to. Again, the process was irritating. At one point this same day an elderly gentleman entered the McD and went to the kiosk, stood there looking at the screen without doing any selecting and seemed to be confused. One of the ladies in our group walked over to assist him with placing his order. He wanted a buy-one-get-one sandwich and neither the gentleman nor the lady from our group could choose the item. Turns out it was only via the app; guess what, the gentleman did not have the app. So, he had to go to the counter, which turned out to be another process. Very frustrating. Personally, I think McD made a pretty serious misktake taking the "human factor" away from their establishments. We used to enjoy the friendly staff who greeted us weekly. Now, it seems no one has time for the customer, let alone the "satisfaction" aspect of...
Read moreOk, when I write a review I want to be as fair and partial as I can when it comes to food places (especially fast-food places). First off none of the pictures you see on the ordering boards will come to you looking like that! It will never look as good; it is a strategic marketing tool. Second of all this place is about feeding the masses, and fast. So, when it comes to consistency at this McDonald's they can sometimes get things looking wrong or give you wrong items. The accuracy of this place is rather quite good considering how fast they have to get everyone moving. I would say about 85% of the time they get it right! When they don't is because they have young teenagers working and are inexperienced at paying attention to details. This is also the case when it comes to the meet and greet with these teenagers at this location. They can sometimes not smile, not look up at you, not even say a word to you when handing out your order to you. This would be a management training opportunity! The food does come out most of the time looking good, not sloppily made or thrown together. It is deliberate on the way it is made and made to order! I would say this is the second-best McDonald's in Rapid City. If you do get a wrong item or an item missing on your order, just tell them and they will always make it right for you! You can't go wrong at this place when you want to scratch your...
Read moreThree stars for the 3 ketchup packets they gave me for my 20 nuggets. Literally had to stop at a gas station to buy ketchup. Thanks McDonald’s.
Edit: The quality of this location has since gone downhill fast. Every time I order nuggets they are not crunchy at all, but that is fine usually.
This morning I went to order two sausage mcgriddles and I wanted bacon added to one. The woman kept trying to remove sausage from my sausage mcgriddle and add bacon. I kept going back and forth, so finally I drove to the window. The man at the window had to fix my order for me. Then, when I got home, I found out there's NO F'ING EGG on either of my mcgriddles. Cool. How do you manage to mess up an order that bad?
2nd Edit: I could practically cry. I went back for my breakfast sandwiches and of course, I am 75% sure I got the same lady. Not thinking about it I drove home. NO F'ING EGG ON MY MCGRIDDLE AGAIN! SERIOUSLY! What about adding something that literally costs me $1.20 extra per sandwich makes you think that I want you to take the f'ing egg off my sandwich?!
I want to say something to them because this has happened multiple times in a row, but I just do not have the energy. I was having a bad morning to begin with, but this just...
