Worst Sam's Club ever!!! My first time going into that Sam's Club and this will be my last! I went in to get a new membership because of their promotion and I was told that I can only get the free promo items if I were to print out the flyer from the Sam's Club's website when clearly, the website didn't state that we had to print out the promo and bring it in in order to be eligible for the free items. Besides that, their website didn't have any barcode or skus for the promo. The older lady that worked at the member service was "helping" me. While helping me, she was talking loudly to her co-worker about her personal life, getting freebies for her children and she was eating chips. She then gave me my new card and turned around to service others without saying anything to me. I had to call two other Sam's Club and they told me that I shouldn't have to print out anything and that the Sam's Club that I was at should've had the flyers at their service desk and should have given me one for the promo items when I signed up for a new membership. The lady on the phone from one of the two stores that I called was kind enough to help me. She happily explained everything to me and told me to grab the promo items and bring it to the checkout and talk to a manager about it and that's excatly what I did. The manager that was working didn't even know about the promotion that was going on this month. I had to explain everything to them about the promotion and they had to go to the next register to look for the promotion booklet and of course, they couldn't find it. The manager was also giving me attitude. If you're not willing to put on a smile to service your customers when they are your number one priority, maybe you should quit your job! I am just glad that I am moving back to my hometown and I wouldn't have to deal with such people...
Read moreThe only reason I have a membership here is because there is no COSTCO here. I recieved a phone call from the Pharmacy yesterday (around 11am CST) and it came up as Walmart. I almost sent it straight to voicemail as I don't know why someone from Walmart would be calling me. But I answered it anyway, while I was driving to work. The Pharmacist (or aid or whatever...I don't remember them saying either way) said my estranged adult daughter was there picking up meds for my two minor kids with my insurance and it wasn't working. The system was telling her that it was the wrong address. She could have called her mom, her other bothers and sister, or even google me. But instead told her side of things to the pharmacy and that they needed to call me and ask me why her mom's address wasn't working for my insurance. While I was asking questions to understand all this and make sure it wasn't a scam, the Sam's club employee started getting short with me. After I gave her my address, which I had already done when I brought their insurance in when it change (because I am a 100% disabled combat veteran and it changed to ChampVA). So 1) Sam's Club new their phones show up as Walmart and have done nothing to correct it. 2) Feel comfortable enough insert themselves into my family drama. 3) When I figured it all out and thanked the lady for her time, she cut me off midway by snapping yeah and hanging up. 4) I would have called and complained to the manager at my poor treatment, but they never answered the phone when I called. I can't wait until my kids are grown and I can move away from...
Read moreOne can save a boatload of bucks purchasing bulk products here at Sam's. I certainly have through the decades. Great investments if one can be relatively assured that the bulk refrigerated and frozen foods they purchase may be sustained in the event of a natural disaster and/or crisis that takes down the power grid for who knows how long. Anything less is being vulnerable and risk taking in a big way.
Though Sam's Club and Walmart have fraternal ties one may be a touch challenged by the differences in atmosphere between the two. Sam's can be a lot more edgy so far as associates are concerned. From the many people dishing out samples in the store to food service personnel to associates throughout the store and behind the counters, they're much more likely to "pop off" at you if they perceive any kind of personal slight... which is almost always just their perception at the time. My gut tells me that (1) Walmart associates are generally more happy with their jobs than Sam's Club associates are, and (2) that Sam's charges a yearly membership so some members come on with that "I own you a little bit" mentality. Those two methinks. Won't stop me from shopping...
