Starbucks — Restaurant in Rapid City

I was a partner for a few years and I had always upheld myself to very high standards for customer service, drink quality, and customer satisfaction. I was very pleased to see the partners at this location embodied this same concept of world class customer service.

I was in Rapid City for a few days for work and frequented this location every time. As a previous partner I have a picky but easy drink: Grande (in a Venti) Java Chip Frappuccino, double mocha, double chips, add banana, blend in marshmallow whipped cream (none on top). I have yet to have this drink taste like how I used to make it until visiting this location. Amanda made it perfectly. Thanks to Amanda's encouragement I now have a name for my drink, The Floor is Java. This was the first time in years I have had the level of service that I would have expected out of my partners. Amanda was the cornerstone of what it means to be a Starbucks partner. From being very personable by engaging in conversation to making amazing drinks with a smile, I could not find a fault if I tried. I eagerly look forward to future engagements.

Unfortunately Amanda was not on bar the next few times I had gone so I ordered something else. When I worked at Starbucks in Charleston we had a drink called The Colorado (called an Undertow at this location). 2 pumps syrup of your choice, 2oz milk of your choice, spoon held over milk, add in two shots of espresso. Easily goes into a short cup with no lid. I was very skeptical to hear they made them. It's easy to make, but easy to ruin. Anna made it perfectly. I was pleasantly very surprised.

I look forward to my company putting an office in Rapid City knowing that I'll have a Starbucks location that is extremely dependable. I could not have been happier with my experience.

They have a sign that says drive thru only so when I made my online order I was under the impression I had to wait in line via drive thru to pick it up at the window. While I waited in line for 20 minutes while my cold foam melted into my drink, I saw a boat load of people walking into the building and coming out with their drinks! So when I got the the window, I asked the woman at the window if online orders could be picked up inside.. to which she said “yeah.” ??? Then why have a sign that says indoor closed drive thru only?? And that’s exactly what I asked her, to which she huffed and puffed. I’ve ordered 2 drinks from there since then and have picked them up in store, I know for a fact they used decaffeinated coffee, they also NEVER give me my extra cold foam and it’s never frothed enough to be actual foam. Very friendly service here and quick but I recommend parking and going inside. The drive through is quite narrow and has a bad pothole in it. Plus, the drive through tends to be busy while the inside is empty. You can get coffee faster by going inside if the drive through is packed. The interior and outdoor patio are kept very clean. Both areas are cozy to hang out at for a while. I don't recommend attempting a left turn out of the parking lot as the road this location is on is a main thoroughfare and is 6 lanes total with the turning lanes right in front of this location's parking lot. Do yourself a favor and take a right; keep going east to West Blvd light where you can make a natural U-turn around the end of the block. It really doesn't take very long and...
