We visited on our anniversary just to have drinks before our dinner reservations elsewhere down the street. We came here once before but sat at the bar and didn't have an issue but my partner seemed to not be too fond of the place. She mentioned a female server that helped out at the bar and was rude with an attitude. I didn't notice her that day.

Well, this time, we got seated at a table and our server happened to be that same girl that made the experience unpleasant the last time. She indeed was terribly rude. I have seen when people don't have great days and they wrongfully take it out on the restaurant patrons they are serving but this girl had a terrible attitude before, as well. I have respect for those working in the service industry and have seen servers absolutely overwhelmed and disrespected by other diners and still have a smile on their face and patience with others. She shouldn't be working in customer-facing industries if she has a problem being a kind, welcoming person. Another note to make was that we asked for a happy hour margarita but requested that they make it spicy. She said that would make it a "specialty" drink and it would no longer be a happy hour drink. She didn't even bother to go find out or see if she can help with that request like others have done countless times at other places. It isn't a big issue to pay regular price as our other drinks were not on the happy hour menu, but it was the absolute lack of effort involved, her attitude and the seemingly greedy practice here that irritated me. We have been from very high end bars and restaurants to something as small as an El Torito and adding 2 jalapeño slices or 2 dashes of bitters is never an issue or equates to a speciality drink price.

Also, this server seemed to get bothered and passed us off to another server in the middle of our visit without any notice or proper transition. It worked better for us anyway but that isn't how you handle it.

You would think it ended there, but of course, it doesn't. The power went out and instead of comping our bill or even a drink, we were asked to wait so they can figure out how to charge us. We were waiting already far too long. I told the new server that we have reservations down the street at Rok n Fondue at 5 p.m. and he had the nerve to ignorantly state, "Their power is out, too. It is the whole few blocks. So nothing to worry about." I called Rok n Fondue to inform them that we are being held at this place due to the power being out and will be late. I asked if their power went out, too and the host answering the phone sounded so confused and chuckled stating, "No, we definitely haven't heard about that outage. We are running just fine here." So we were late to our reservation there and had to wait.

These people here are so unprofessional and do not know how to properly run a business with exceptional customer service and best business practices. They ruined a special evening and even worse, an anniversary night out. Needless to say we won't go again and will be sure to warn others. There are plenty of other places we have visited and continue giving business to, even if just for them being very kind,...

Truly next-level flavors in a killer location. We went to have brunch for my wife's birthday and we decided to give this place a try. We were sat in the alley, which is super cool if you haven't checked it out yet, and we're greeted right away. Service was pretty good and our waitress did a good job of taking care of us. All the staff we encountered were polite and showed a sense of urgency. The setting is a quaint back alley with mixed colors of umbrellas hanging from the air the entire length of the alley. There are multiple restaurants tucked in this alley making it a hot spot for the hunger or cocktail enthused. The menu seemed to be a brunch menu and I felt it was a little all over the place. I would've liked to see some small plate options or appetizers at this time, but what was offered sounded really good. We got the burger, soft shell crab sandwich and what essentially is their chilaquiles with pork. I ordered their truffle fries as a starter as I couldn't really find anything we could try before our meal. It worked out well. The truffle fries were the perfect kind of crispy layered with garlic and truffle oil and shaved parmesan cheese. These were legit and honestly might have been the best thing we are there. Seriously, I've had many plates of truffle fries in my day and 80% of the time they are mistakenly coated with WAAAAAYY too much truffle oil, but the balance on these were divine. And that's not even mentioning how good the actual fry itself was. The soft shell crab was crunchy and, personally, not the best one I've ever had, but still very good and loaded with top-notch veggies. All the vegetables they used on the burgers were definitely elevated and I'm guessing local or organic or something that likely makes them expensive because they rock. The attention to detail with the veggies really took this place up a notch. My chilaquiles were fantastic with amazingly savory pork and verde sauce layered with fresh bell peppers and two fried eggs. The food here is definitely the main focus and you can taste it. Which makes this my kind of place. For such a quick brunch, I was really impressed. I look forward to going back and seeing the dining room and hopefully seeing a dinner menu with small plates or appetizers. Overall, it's a bit pricy, but the quality you see in things like lettuce, tomatoes and potatoes are second to none. I know this may seem trivial, but these are the difference makers. These are the things that restaurant owners typically skimp on to cut costs because so few diners notice the difference in quality vegetables. They are small parts of a big wheel that serves up some truly elevated food with delicate care and intent....

Overhyped overpriced hole in the wall. We came yesterday with our toddler and puggle and got our outdoor seats. Wonderful, so excited to eat after an afternoon of hiking. I was intrigued by the cocaine cowgirl drink and it wasn’t anything it was hyped up to be in the description. It came with a lil button plant to chew to change the flavor of the drink, but it didn’t really? I felt silly for falling for it and now I was stuck with an… unpleasant drink. We chose the trio of fries to start it off and idk they were mostly soggy and limp. Again, we’re hungry and tired so we eat them up anyway. We ordered and everything was going fine. I ordered the burger, husband ordered the pork belly, and we got our toddler one of the two only foods they offered for kids (the first one being a regular sized cheese pizza): chicken tenders. When we got our food, we dug in. The burger was absolutely heavenly. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The wagyu beef is exquisite. My husband on the other hand, cut into his pork belly (after eating some of the outer layer) discovered that the inside of the pork belly was cold. So he naturally sent it back because it’s a food hazard. Turned off of the pork belly since it was again, a health hazard, asked for the mushroom risotto. He got it after I’d finished my burger (the bun got soggy real quick) and we agreed that the risotto was so-so. Definitely not worth the price. They offered us a free drink, even though my husband wasn’t even drinking and it was his meal that was the health hazard. Make that make sense. When we finally got the bill, they hadn’t even removed the replacement dish he’d gotten after he was served the health hazard. I told my husband that the drink was probably a test and if we left it untouched, they probably would have removed the dish. So if you’re ever served a dish that could send you to the hospital and they offer you a “complimentary” drink, don’t take it. Our toddler also didn’t touch the chicken tenders, which is probably for the best because since the pork belly came out cold; we figured the chicken tenders would be raw inside. we took it home despite it, as the chicken tenders (a beloved dish for kids, but our toddler refused) was ten whole dollars. We’ll take it home and airfry it instead of leaving ten dollar chicken tenders and fries behind. Definitely will never come...
