Del Taco — Restaurant in Redlands

I lied to the drive through lady. I said I had never been to a Del Taco before. I had gone once about 3 years ago. At the very least, this morning was my first time to this location and first time ever at breakfast. I explained that I was lost when it came to their menu. She suggested the breakfast tacos. I chose bacon ... no, actually she suggested that too. I did choose the hot 🔥 sauce rather tha mild 😃 she assured me that I was going to like them and suggested I get a second order. I made the choice to have only 1 order because that equals 2 tacos. They had a soft flour tortilla, filled with egg, crispy hasbrown nuggets 😋 bacon 🥓 (crumbles) cheese sauce, and shredded cheddar. They were a tad saltier than what I would prefer. Maybe they could be balanced out with some lettuce and tomato 🍅 . . . Maybe next time. I will return. I like Del Taco, but this specific location is a mess. They are almost never open on time, due to the cook not being on time or other employees and they almost always burn my tortillas, or their tortillas are already hard and stale. Overall, I blame management, because either they don't know how to run this place or are one of the employees that are never there on time to see what's going wrong. They get at least 2 stars though from me because I like Del Taco, and because some of the staff there are actually there to do their jobs, like this lady who has a long braid, she's nice. For the first time in my long life, I asked for new food. After driving through, I realized half my order was missing and the double cheeseburger was inedible: the bread was hard and crumbly as though past expiration. The meat was cold and tasted funny, the cheese unmelted and vegetables were wilted and slimey. While I did get the missing part of my order and a "new" burger (and I was overly polite regarding my issues), customer service was surly and the second burger was worse: just as stale and cold and purposefully sloppily made. I was hungry and looking forward to a rare fast food treat but threw it all away and regret the lost 20+ bucks and time. Will never go...
