Absolutely appalled from our experience on Friday. We had a show at the GSR and were sat at the restaurant at 6:00. Right away we were serviced fairly quickly on asking for drink order, which I just ordered a coke. They also asked us if we were ready to order our food and we were not yet, and asked the server to come back in two minutes and then we would be ready. The server completely forgot about us and didn't come back until we requested her to over 20 minutes later. By the point we were able to order our food, it was 6:30 already, my coke had not come, and the wine my friend had ordered had not come either. We were able to order our food, and got a bread basket about 15 minutes after ordering. At 7:10, we still did not have our food and was surprised because we saw many tables that were seated after us already have their food orders. We called our server over just to get an update on how much longer the food would be (it had been 40 minutes since we ordered). We expressed our concern about the show we had in just under an hour and her response was "you and everyone else has that show tonight. We're busy and your food will be out when it's ready". I'm 99% certain she forgot to put our food order in. By 7:45, an hour and 15 minutes after placing our food order, we just told them we were going to leave because we weren't going to be late to the show. The manager was upset with us and said that our food only took so long because we ordered food that they cannot prepare quickly (I doubt a medium rare steak and some broccolini takes 1 hour to make), and said that the now 8 people that were seated after us and fed before us only had that because they ordered "easy foods" (in which we saw several steaks served, and shrimp and potato dishes). The manager got mad at us and said if we would have just "waited another couple minutes" our food would've been out, like we want to scarf down an $80 plate in less than 5 minutes in order to make the show. After all that, the manager basically saying it is our fault, and that we should have expected a long wait time for food, we paid our bill and left. And yes, they still made me pay for my coke. No resolution was offered, not even an offer to comp our drinks. I worked at Rim for over 5 years at the GSR. I know how stressful show nights can be and how busy it is for the wait staff, but we never, absolutely NEVER, did this to our customers. Maybe that's why RIM had a three hour wait and Charlie Palmer's could seat us immediately. The purpose of this long review is in hopes that it reaches the proper management at the GSR and is corrected. 5 other tables walked out without their dinner that night, minimum of 8 were served food even though their orders were after us. Much more should have been done to resolve this issue, and I highly doubt that the charlie palmer manager is reporting the issue and the amount of walk outs that happened to upper...

We came in from Coos Bay Oregon craving an amazing meal . We saw this Huge Casino Hotel off the side of the freeway and thought ? They have to have a great Steak house in there .. We decided to stop at GSR Grand and get a nice Suite for the evening. We had a hard time finding parking due to front of hotel under construction and all lots on one side had Status parking spots with signs infront of every spot .. lol Tow truck eagerly waiting to take a car at the top corner by VIP valet . Anyway parked and walked in .. first thing is first , restroom and then find The steak house . After a little walking around we found it .. Charlie Palmer Steak Reno .. Looked at the Menu and it looked pretty good . We get sat and I went back outside to make sure my vehicle was parked in appropriate spot . Didn't want to be a victim of the tow company on site . All was good and went back in .. my wife and daughter were sitting and my wife had ordered me a delicious drink . We had water and 15 minutes later Waitress brought bread .. Another 15 minutes later she came back and took our order .. I ordered crab legs 1lb that looked like a quarter pound lol I leg cut in half ? One pound? Lol anyway my wife ordered a very nice Rebeye and my daughter a Filet mingon. Anxiously awaiting we finished our first drink and ordered another .. after 1.5 hrs not even exaggeration, I get up and ask the hostess if she could please check.on our food .. she advised they were really busy and she concurred that it was a long wait .. I then see the manager and I asked him the same thing .. All he had for me was one word RUDE answers.. I asked Does this seem normal ? He responded Yup .. Me: This is a really long time to wait .. Him: well its how it is Me: wow ok well thank you lol Maybe 5 minutes after that food came out Steak was so basic and my crab legs were a joke !!! I could not believe this meal . I've had 20 times better at Pelicans or Texas road house with the steaks ..

Waitress was not experienced Manger was a total ! No customer service whatsoever...

His demeanor and way of talking down to me was unreal . Not once checked on our table .. not once apologized for the delay not once acknowledged any sence of I need toare this a better experience..

The Hotel Casino has lost our Bussiness the city of Reno period .. this was a pit stop on our way to me meet family in Vegas . This place was a joke and I or my family will ever step foot here again ..

One bad experience makes this a...

I took my friend for his birthday tonight. I had been there before once with a friend as a spur of the moment thing, and one more time with my dad for Father's Day.

Charlie Palmer's certainly brought their A game tonight. The entire staff was on point from the person who gives you water and bread - Travis, to the wonderful people who come and stop by to help clear your table as you go, Jacob who packed our orders to go, and of course our lovely server Mona.

We started with cocktails I had the S5 which was positively delightful. It's like a muddled strawberry vodka-based drink served in a fancy Martini glass, my friend had the corpse maker, which has a drop of absinthe.

For appetizers we enjoyed the scallops, the shishito peppers, and oysters Rockefeller. All three of these were a slice of heaven and completely divine. We did not know what to expect of the shishito peppers but we were pleasantly surprised as they were very flavorful cooked to perfection and not too spicy to the mouth.

For our entree and sides we shared a 16 oz ribeye steak, 1 lb of king crab legs, baked potato, potatoes au gratin, creamed spinach, and mushroom medley. We requested the sake medium rare and it came spot on medium rare and melt in your mouth good. We had it with the sauces chimichurri and creamy horseradish.

For dessert we ordered the lemonmeyer cheesecake and because it was my friend's birthday we were surprised with a little slice of birthday red velvet cake.

Everything was truly exceptional flavor profile wise. The only thing I probably would not order again is the creamed spinach. It's not terrible I just happen to prefer the one I make myself more. And there are so many delicious things to eat here why not choose something I find truly exceptional.

To cleanse our palettes we were each provided a piece of dark chocolate. It was so smooth and creamy and decadent.

This is definitely a pricier meal in Reno but well worth the money and regards to the quality of food and in regards to the portions you receive along with the beauty of...

We decided to do date night at Charlie Palmers steak house in the GSR. The atmosphere was not upscale no one was dressed well people were in track suits and tennis shoes which for a world renowned steak house was odd and brought down the ambiance. The wine selection was very good, we ordered foie gra as an appetizer, the flavor was ok but the texture seemed odd, I had a top sirloin I ordered medium rare it was medium well and again the texture was not right and it was tough and difficult to chew, the truffle potato was good the wild mushrooms were also good my boyfriend had lobster and filet, again the filet was over cooked, desert was Carmel mousse again weird jello like texture and I had creme brûlée which was actually the only acceptable part of the meal besides the wine. We were incredibly disappointed with the food and the preparation of the food. The only saving grace was that the service was excellent ARLAND OUR sever was pleasant and attentive but as for the Restaurant and food we won’t go back. Also today we are both incredibly ill with gi issues. So overall we paid more than three hundred dollars which we don’t mind paying and do often at other fine dining but this is what we got - all the food was over cooked -the food textures were off and it took forever for them to bring out our food - and I think we got food Bourne illness as a result of eating there - service was exceptional -atmosphere was like sitting in a room with grammas old furniture and eating at a cafeteria after going to the gym All In All expected more Would not recommend the Roxie in the eldorado is 100percent a better experience

We had a fantastic birthday dinner celebration at Charlie Palmer Steak! The cocktail list was impressive, especially the Poire d'Or, which I absolutely loved, and the service was top-notch. The ambiance is elegant, and every member of the staff was professional and attentive. Our server Landon was super fun and felt like the perfect fit for the vibe here. We loved his service and he treated us so well! We started with the classic Caesar salad, followed by the New York strip with peppercorn sauce, a half lobster tail, and a side of mashed potatoes. Everything was perfect and I loved the lobster tail. For dessert, we enjoyed a flawless creme brulee, and to top it off, they brought out a complimentary pineapple cake with birthday candles. Like, so thoughtful. The beer list was also very European and well-curated. My fiancee had a German beer. I'd highly recommend Charlie Palmer for a fun and memorable night out!
