I would put 2.5 stars if that were a thing. If the cafe at the Peppermill is a decent Denny's then this one at Grand Sierra Resort is a lesser quality Denny's. It was just about the only thing open before 4pm (aside from a couple fast food spots) Basically if I was asked to verbally describe this place in a few words I would say "It wasn't terrible". And that's about the best I could say. Service was fine but not memorable. Food wasn't terrible but definitely not especially tasty and my bun was overly toasted and dry. The sauce tasted ok but there wasn't enough of it on the sandwich/pork. My wife said the meatballs were pretty good but the rest of the spaghetti was just ok and the bread was pretty hard/crunchy. As with most of my mediocre reviews I like to qualify them that it's possible we didn't have very good luck ordering the right things. It's possible there's something on the menu that stands out and is amazing but I generally like to ask that question of my server right when I get to a place so that I improve my odds of ordering their standout meal. So like most Denny's style cafes this place is a spot to go when everything else is closed or you are too drunk to care.

We've eaten here a few times before when staying at GSR. I'm surprised I never left a review.   This place is usually crowded, and there is always a wait.  The cashier who helped me was nice, and she made sure we had everything we needed from jellies, hot sauce,  and extra napkins. We ordered breakfast to go, and our food was piping hot. 1.  Country fried steak and eggs - I ordered it with over medium eggs and sourdough toast.  At first glance, I was sad and said I should've asked for more gravy.  Then I noticed they placed gravy underneath as well.  Genius.  The country fried steak was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside.  Hash browns were perfectly cooked,  nice, and crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside.  It was perfection. 2.  All American Breakfast Sandwich - This was a "Beast" of a sandwich.  Halfway through, my husband was like, "I'm already full."  Thick slice of ham on the inside and hearty pieces of bacon.   This was perfectly portioned all throughout. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

Had one of the worst meals and awful servers - not a great place😕 Had breakfast with my son - things started with a surly, curt server and went downhill from there. He had the chicken fried steak, I had a ham and cheese omelette. His steak was rough and grisly, and the breading thick and great, although the gravy was tasty. My omelette was meh, the hash browns tasteless and cold. But given the attitude of the server, I was afraid to say anything! I asked for peanut butter as the jam tray did not have any, and you’d think I’d asked her to grow peanuts, harvest them, and make the peanut butter herself - very put out. However, the worst was yet to come. An hour later my son was in the bathroom and remained there most of the morning. Unfortunately, I tried a couple forkfuls of his breakfast and had a similar, if not delayed reaction, lasting the afternoon, evening, and through the night. I had been warned to avoid the Grande Cafe and should have heeded it - you should do the same.

More negatives than positives. Arrived at 11 am on Black Friday. 20 minute wait but plenty of empty tables. Figure that it must have been an issue with lack of staffing. Seated by a very pleasant waiter. Much to our dismay, apparently 11 15 is too late for breakfast except for a meager four item selection. They do have the basics and also Chicken and Waffles which is what I got. Quite dismayed at what actually came out, actually more like 2 chicken nuggets and waffle. The chicken nuggets were half breading, no bones which I guess I'm supposed to be thankful for, and 1 waffle. The batter was well crisped from the deep fryer which was good. But honestly most people imagine having real pieces of chicken and all of the meat that inherently comes with it. This was a seriously underwhelming presentation at 13.50. The single waffle was also cooked well and tasted good. Once finished, we waited approximately 15 minutes and still no check, no sign of our waiter, and in fact it seemed as though virtually every waiter and helper had completely disappeared. Situations like this I will feel no remorse about walking out without paying, when the service is so poor that they do not seem as though they even want to be paid. If I have to beg them for the check, they must not want the money that badly. We were about to do just that, when all of a sudden a throng of wait staff came out. It was like someone open the gate and they all came rushing out. More likely a staff meeting or something of the sort was taking place, but to make the patrons of the restaurant wait for 15 minutes while this is happening in the middle of a rush time seems like poor management. So we got our check but i didnt tip. There wasnt really anything tip worthy about the meal or service and i have no reason to go back there either. This sort of experience seems to be a common thread at GSR. Dining experience is always underwhelming either with service (dont get me started on the two little punk table clearers at Rim that would sneak up on each other and slap their feet on the concrete to try to startle one another when their backs were turned.. aforementioned 15 minute wait for check ), or bang-for-the-buck (2 chicken nuggets as mentioned... smallest sushi rolls at Rim ever seen... small portions in general). We keep coming back (4 times total)but i think this is our last try. Sorry GSR there are better venues that fit the...

DO NOT GO HERE! HORRIBLE customer service!!!! We came in, and waited by the sign that says "please wait here to be seated"... and were ignored for 15 minutes. Other people walked up to the desk up front, and were put on the waiting list before us. So of course, we said something to the hostesses up front. Andrea was incredibly rude, and told my boyfriend to "lower his voice" when he was most definitely not yelling... and told us we are now on the list (after the people who just walked up), or we can go somewhere else if we dont like it!!!

This was a simple fix "I apologize for not seeing you, we will place you on the proper place on the list, please take a seat" ...

When we told the assistant manager Gerard what was going on, Andrea said "buh bye" to us as Gerard stood there and let her talk to us like that! Insane!!!!! He did not apologize, and let us walk out, as someone else came up to complain to him about horrible customer service as well! As we left, we saw someone else (sitting on the waiting bench) saying they had been waiting for a long time, and were told to take a seat when they came in... the hostess told them that they were not on the list (They were sitting there before we arrived)

We are staying at the hotel, and will NOT be coming back, or spending any money at the casino here ever again if this is how they allow their customers to be treated.

Great job Andrea and Gerard for loosing customers 👏👏 hopefully someone will teach them some customer service before they cost the place...

This place used to be pretty good for certain things but it seems in the last 2 years management I'm guessing has made this place a highly overpriced establishment and they haven't done anything to justify charging people too much money for anything on the menu. Example, used to have a New York steak sandwich for $13 and it was a great deal and it was a great steak sandwich. Now they charge $25 for the same sandwich. The quality didn't improve you get one side dish and they charge you a to-go fee if you wanted it to go an extra $4 just to have it to go because they have to include a napkin a fork and a knife and some condiments and you can't opt out of any of that it's very cute sassy that you have to pay so the $13 sandwich now cost over $25 no improvements in it and earlier today I went to Atlantis Toucan Charlie's and had the most incredible all-you-can-eat prime rib Buffet with all the deserts and prime rib you can eat, salads, ribs, Mongolian BBQ, pizza, mexican... you name it they have it. You get all you can you drink and it cost me $19 for their lunch meal. So in essence I could have eaten 100 slices of prime rib that were twice the size of the steak sandwich for less money. Casinos sure have changed it's like they have to find new ways to get money out of you and he starts hitting you on every corner of your stay there instead of doing what they used to do where they encourage people to come gamble by giving them free food and no comps. I need to...
