I was staying at the Grand Sierra Resort and had a craving for something sweet. I noticed all of the restaurants in the resort were overpriced and this one was no different. I saw the prices for the milkshakes which were over $10 each. I figured I would splurge thinking it was going to be a really good milkshake for that price. Nope. The milkshake was premade. I couldn’t see for sure but I think it came out of a machine. It took the woman about 1 minute to return with my milkshake. It was basically a DQ Blizzard but not made to order and $12 with tip. I tipped thinking they had to hand mix the shake. This was a long winded way to say go to Dairy Queen instead. And 3 stars is generous.

1st off I have to say that the service here is awesome! Tina was our waitress and she was fantastic! The reason for the 2 star rating is because the food here at Johnny Rockets at the GSR hotel was some of the worst I have ever tasted. My hamburger was thin dry and burnt. Tina brought me another one. The 2nd Burger was sadly the same. I could feel it lodged in my stomach. My husband slid his hamburger out of the bun and just ate the bun. The fries were OK. The Onion rings very bland. My husband said the best thing about the whole meal was the ketchup. Walked out of there with a $45 bill. I will never go back.

First time in its downstairs location which would explain how long it's been since I've been here. Took about 10 minutes to get to us to take our order and it felt like we were a bit ignored at the beginning. Ordered chili cheese TOTS with crumbled bacon and a root beer. Received fries, not tots BUT we accepted them anyways. Absolutely delicious. Bro got a shake and I got a root beer, both great for what they were. This is a resort but prices were surprisingly low despite it. Minus their slow response at the start and the tots vs. fries mistake, it was really good and I recommend it.

This place is wonderful, granted I've liked stand alone Johnny Rockets better, but the food is still as good as I remember.

The previous review complained about $11 being expensive for a burger and $5 shakes being a lot. Well first of all the $5 are $5 for a reason, they are THAT good, plus they give you a refill cup that you can either chug from the stainless steel goblet or pour it in the glass they give you. $11 is NOT expensive for a burger it is about average for a restaurant burger, this is not a fast food joint.

Anyway, AMAZING service, and EXTREMELY good shakes. If you never get anything else here you HAVE to get the shakes. The burgers were nothing fantastic but they tasted good. The reason why they only give you a small portion of fries is so that you have enough room for their HUGE shakes. If you think a medium frosty is large then you have not seen a $5 shake before (Two large shakes for $5).

The service is spot on, they seat you and immediately ask you what you will have to drink and then only 5 minutes later they ask you what will you have to eat. You never have to find someone to get some service, they are always there when you need them. Plus if they see that you are there with a girl they usually back off a little and give you some space so you can have some alone time. Which is nice because there are plenty of places who do not understand that on a date you want to speak to your date more than you waiter or waitress.

As far as classiness goes it is so much more classy than going to Mcdonalds, and is a great place to go after a concert or event.

Oh I highly recommend going on a Tuesday if you want some quiet, that is one of the few days the Mustang club next door is closed. On other days they tend to be so loud you can't hear the person you're with, so plan...

My family hasn't been to this restaurant for a while. I wanted to treat my kids to a sit down restaurant and they chose to come here because they remember how good the milkshakes were.

We got there and we found out AFTER we were sat down by our waitress that the fryers were not working. That meant we couldn't order anything fried. All they really had were burgers and salads. The kids were okay with that so we stayed.

Food was okay. However, I would have expected a lot more for the money I paid. My son ordered the mini burger sliders from the kids menu. For almost $12.00 all he got was two little buns that each had half a burger patty and cheese in them. There were no sides, nothing. I got a salad with grilled chicken. Not worth the $16.00. It had one type of lettuce, some tomato, a little bit of cheese, a bit of crumbled bacon and some not that seasoned chicken breast. I was severely disappointed.

I do not recommend eating at this restaurant. You will not get your money's worth. For a kids meal, I would have expected more than just a couple of mini burgers. To me, a kids meal is more than just a burger - the meal usually has a side with it. I could make a better salad at home for less money. Even a salad from Wendy's would have been better. For $50, I would have expected to get more than 2 tiny burgers, an okay salad, 2 child milkshakes and a soda.

Huge shoutout to Tina our waitress. She was awesome and very accommodating. She was the only good thing at the restaurant.

Don't waste your time going here. You would get better food elsewhere for your money. Even the hospital food at Renown...

We waited over an hour for our waters. Servers were so busy our table was skipped. Our food took our and a half. We were not allowed to dine on chairs in front , there were plenty available. Server was great but had had no back up. Host just starred and bussed tables at will it seemed. My grandson was so excited to be here first time out of state, but this part of trip was disappointing. It was so hot that day maybe a little water on time would of helped. I couldnt even speak to managment the wait was to long. I spent plenty of money here. I don't think we will be eating at the GSR Johnny Rockets, unless it's slow and they can handle the volume of customers.

I returned to the resurant to the restaurant the next morning before checking out. The manager acknowledged my complaints and said we couldn't sit on chairs because she didn't have enough server's then she took my credit card and stated she would refund me. She came back, returned my card, and told me it would be 3 business days I said ok and thanked her. I left Reno to return home 4 hours away where no Johny Rockets exist and I get phone call from her starting that she was not going to refund me but she would remake food per her manager. I asked why she said because I told her the food was so greasy that our tummys got upset. So apparently, she was offended. How sad, my family was so excited to eat there. When I tried to call her back she acted like she couldn't hear me. After the 3rd attempt I just gave up. But I'm posting this because you can't treat people that way and I will tell everyone I know about my experience with...
