During a business trip to Reno, this location looked like a great place to try breakfast. Information found online stated they were open only for pickup or delivery. Oddly several items were listed as "Out of stock" on the online menu. I placed my order and arrived promptly at the scheduled time for pickup. I was surprised to see they were actually open for sit down dining both indoor and outdoor seating when I arrived which I personally would have preferred. My order was ready and packaged well. Each item was in a seperate to go box and then neatly placed into a brown bag.I ordered several items from the online menu. Biscuits smothered in sausage gravy with an over easy egg, bacon, hash browns, fried green tomatoes, lemon ricotta & rhubarb poptart and lastly an Arnold Palmer.Like other reviewers - I found the taste of the sausage gravy unpleasant. It was sickeningly sweet. Perhaps it's a local preference, but it was a first for me and it seemed the more I tried to eat it - the sweetness increased. The egg was cooked perfectly as well as the bacon. The bacon was a thick slice but was a very small serving cut into 2 inch strips. The hash browns were seasoned and cooked perfectly but they were sitting in about a tablespoon of oil in the bottom of my to go box. The fried green tomatoes were very good but online it stated they were served with a ranch dressing which was missing from my order. The adult pop tart was my biggest disappointment. It would have been delicious if prepared correctly. The crust was light and flaky but the filling had been fried right out of it - all of it. Lastly, the Arnold Palmer was served in a small glass - the online menu did not provide the size of the beverage. Overall I felt like everything was overpriced for the quality of the food. My order totaled $37.84. I would definitely try other spots to get a better bang for your buck and...
Read moreThe food is excellent. The rest, not so much.
We arrived with a line going slightly out the door. After looking at the menus, we noticed a sign saying that we were to order before sitting down at a table. Okay, that seems okay, except there really isn't much room and all the tables were pretty well full.
When we reached the order taker/cashier, the biggest thing I noticed was a huge tip jar crowded with paper money. I asked, "What happens if there are no tables available when our order is ready?" I wasn't ready for the response, "We'll just turn it into a to-go order." Really?
Prices are on the high side for breakfast, but what the hey--it's the experience, right? After paying, we were handed 2 empty coffee cups, a metal tag with our order number, and the order taker/cashier pointed to the coffee carafes on a table behind us so we could serve ourselves. Want silverware? Get it yourself from another table. Want some water? Get it yourself. Want to sit down? Find a place to sit and put the metal order number where it can be seen. We located 2 seats at the counter, and wiggled into two uncomfortable tractor seats. Good! At least it's not going to be a to-go order.
The meal was up very quickly; because the menu is so limited, the kitchen can pump out some food very quickly. And did I mention it? The food is excellent and in large portions. We eat, too close for comfort to other individuals on either side of our two tractor seats. The noise level is very high, and truth told, it reminded me of a fast food restaurant with bad acoustics, a huge tip jar, and great food.
Oh, and I forgot to mention it, there is a sign that says "Bus your own table and help the environment." I'm still working on that one.
Maybe to-go IS the...
Read moreMy husband & I walked into this restaurant today 4/4/25, we have never been here before & wanted to try it, well we did not get to sadly. I guess you have to order first before taking a table & yes they do have a sign but also, they have the menu right at the door as you walk in & if you’ve never been there you’ll spend most of your time in line reading the menu, so I chose what I wanted to order & left my husband in line to order for me & took a seat at one of their open tables. A short time after the young lady at the register came to get me out of the table to let me know she has a sign that says you have to order first. So I got up then walked over to my husband who was trying to order for us but the same young lady kept interrupting, I then asked her if I can use the restroom, she pointed me in that direction but before I could leave for the restroom she looked at my husband & said “I usually start w a hello good morning & how may I help you but okay thank you what would you like” as she said this she was waving her head left to right in exaggeration, her tone of voice was very condescending, she stared at my husband w this smart ass look on her face. I think this young lady may have been having a bad morning, maybe other customers come in & try getting away w getting their table before they order, I’m not sure, but non the less, this was our first time coming here & it was a terrible experience, we kindly told her we’d just be going somewhere else, she said that’s fine & went on to the next customer in line. We will never set foot in this poorly managed establishment. We have never been treated this way at any restaurant. I hope that young lady learns to treat people better esp when working in...
