Our first experience with this business was bumpy. Yesterday, we purchased a nightstand for our daughter, who is moving into her first home. After we got home, we showed her a picture of a bed we’d taken and she liked it. So I went to the website to find CFR's phone number and discovered they were running a special holiday spin-the-wheel promotion for a 10-20% discount or free delivery. They did not mention this promotion when we purchased the nightstand, which would have saved us $15 to $30. To take advantage of the promotion, I asked my husband to return to the store to buy the bed in person, saving us 20% or $132. However, they refused to offer us any discount on the nightstand, even though we’d purchased it only two hours earlier. Most businesses would highlight their promotions instead of expecting customers to discover them independently or lose out.
The bed we purchased was displayed with a fabric-matched foundation wrapped in plastic, leading us to believe that the original owners probably used a conventional mattress and box spring instead of the foundation. We carefully examined all the tags, curious about the brand, and did not find a separate price tag for the foundation.
After borrowing a trailer from a neighbor—specifically because the foundation wouldn’t fit in his truck—my husband returned this morning to pick up the bed, only to be told we would have to pay for the foundation separately. They explained that it only sat on the bed frame for display purposes. After calling to find out the price, making it evident there wasn’t a separate price tag on the foundation, they said it was $169. Eventually, they charged us $159, claiming it was “only because my husband complained,” even though we would have received a 20% discount had they informed us that the foundation wasn’t included when we initially bought the bed. Ultimately, the manager canceled the additional and unexpected purchase, for which we are grateful.
Overall, we think this store has a good selection of quality products at fair prices. That said, we would advise customers to check their website for any promotions or available discounts and confirm what components are included before making any purchases to avoid needless...
Read moreRecommended by a friend, and love the process from the beginning to the end! I was willing to donate this item, but couldn't find an organization willing to pick it up. I contacted consign furniture, texted them a photo of the item and they said "sure!" Two gentlemen arrived at my apartment to pick up the dresser I didn't need anymore. Very courteous, very professional. I didn't lift a finger during the transaction. The contract stipulated that if the item wasn't sold during a certain time period, I would need to arrange to pick it up myself, or it would be donated to charity (which was my intention in the first place). At the expiration of the contracted period, I decided not to retrieve my dresser, but I guess it sold at the last minute and I received a surprise check in the mail for more than I would have sold it for myself if I had decided to go through that hassle. I definitely plan on using them again to sell, and I've heard that they're a great place to shop too. (I just wish I needed something!) When I move from my apartment in two years, I'll have them come get everything! Easiest way to do business, without a doubt....
Read moreEveryone was very kind every step of the way. The store upon calling them was very confident that they would be able to sell our furniture. They went over the process with me as to the men coming out and picking up the furniture and needing to inspect it. They told me there would be a $50 pickup fee and agreed. We consigned a wine hutch and a TV stand. What I was not told in the initial call is that the store keeps half of the proceeds of the sales. This part I feel wasnt as transparent. The pickup was very easy and on time, you sign a contract at pickup explaining what happens if the furniture doesnt sell on their floor after 90 days, then the furniture appraiser calls you , also very kind to deal with . There is an easy to use website that keeps you updated of your consignment. This is the only place like this in town , our furniture sold within the first week. You have to wait til your contract expires before they mail you the check. Very neat service this place offers and like I said no one else in Reno offers this to my knowledge. Overall an easy to use...
