We used to have one of these nearby, and would pop in now and then for dinner or just for a float and cheese curds. We didn't go often, being fond of our arteries, but it was fun as an occasional treat. It closed a few years before we moved, so we were quite happy to find one near our new home.
Fortunately for our arteries, the few times we've gone to this location guaranteed that we'll never go there again. It has never taken less than 35 minutes to get our food - and that was for just two burgers, fries, and floats. 53 mins is the record; by that point, I had all but lost interest in the food and was only staying to see just how long it'd take to be done. Amazingly, despite taking almost an hour to make them, they managed to screw up all three meals! Some parts were missing and others were just plain wrong. It was ridiculous.
I called and complained after the 53 minute debacle, and talked to a woman who said she'd email me a $20 gift certificate for my trouble right away. (The receipt actually has a separate name and number at the bottom to call when - not if - they screw up.) Unsurprisingly, it took a full week for the email to arrive. A bloody email, for pity's sake.
I took it in to use it, explaining why we'd gotten it. The manager said she was sorry and that it wouldn't happen again. It then took 45 minutes to get my order ready - three basic meals to go - and, having learned my lesson, I checked the bags before we left. They'd forgotten one entire meal and messed up parts of the two others. We just gave up...
Read moreI haven't had A&W in years and was in the area and wanted a quick burger. I knew it was a bad idea from the moment the guy came over the speaker. As he was taking my order the car in front of me had approached the window and he said something I didn't hear so I stopped placing my order and said "what was that" his exact reply was "I wasn't talking to you". So after this occurred and against my better judgement to just drive away I had to repeat my entire order again. I seriously think he was incapable of multitasking and serving the window and taking the order at the same time. He had to handle one car at a time which probably works most of the time because I wouldn't imagine it's ever busy because it is terrible. So I ordered a cheeseburger meal and drove to the window. He wasn't as rude at this point so I paid and got my food and left. Now on to how terrible the food was. I can not express how bad that cheeseburger was. I took 3 bites and threw it out. It tasted like a terrible frozen patty masked by a bunch of cheese. The fries were mostly cold and bad. The only thing that was worth the money was the Pepsi I got and the root beer float my girlfriend ordered. I wouldn't go back here and honestly can't imagine anyone eating that food and returning...
Read moreMy recent visit to this establishment left me quite dissatisfied. The standout issue was the manager's demeanor, which was consistently rude and mean-spirited, not only towards customers but also towards the hardworking employees. Her behavior included loud, unsettling outbursts that created an uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone present.
To add to the disappointment, the food I ordered, specifically the burgers, arrived cold. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, the manager attempted to shift blame onto me, making the situation even more frustrating. Fortunately, after expressing my concerns, I was promptly refunded, which was a relief.
Beyond the service and management concerns, the cleanliness of the place was far from satisfactory. The floors were noticeably dirty, and the windows appeared to have been neglected for some time. These cleanliness issues further contributed to my overall negative impression.
In conclusion, my experience at this establishment was marred by a rude and unprofessional manager, subpar food quality, and cleanliness concerns. I hope that these issues can be addressed in the future to provide a more pleasant dining experience for...
