White Castle — Restaurant in Rich Township

The worst experience at a fast food place I've ever had. Actually bad enough that I have to write a review. Had to wait 10 minutes to get up to the speaker to order, when I get to the speaker it is almost impossible to hear the person. Wait another 10 minutes to get to the window. When we get to the window we were not greeted or anything (which I don't really care about, but still) Mary (very clearly a meth head) takes the card and gives us the receipt without saying a word besides confirming our order. Mary then disappears and we wait another 5-10 minutes, during that wait we notice that the drink we ordered isn't on the receipt. Mary reappears with our order and before we can do anything besides grab it she Houdinis away again. I try to get their attention in there somehow so I knock on the metal outside the window, and Mary punches the window open and snarls "what." I ask Mary if I can get a drink (which we did order at the speaker) and she tells us that next time we have to order it at the speaker. Mary methhead then tells her co-worker that if "people didn't order pop at the window there wouldn't be such a long wait." Mary then asks us what size and says "Friday's and Saturdays are our busiest days, and we got the concert (which we were coming back from) and bars closing up, so you can't be ordering stuff up here." MARY, WE HAVE ALL HAD BUSY TIMES AT OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE JOBS THE WRONG THING TO DO IS TO TAKE YOUR ANGER AND FRUSTRATION OUT ON THE CUSTOMERS. Mary then goes on the speaker whit another customer and says "I'll be right with you I got people ordering pop at the window." So now because of your mistake Mary you have to try and demean us twice? All you had to do was take our money and pour the drink, I understand withdrawals are very hard to deal with but being a nasty you know what won't get you far in life as I'm sure you've realized in your 50+ years. I normally would frequent this location in the late evenings leaving work or family, omw home. One night (I have the receipt w date/time ect) after placing my order at the window, I was instructed to stay at the 1st window. So before the WC associate attended to me, I noticed a man walking near the window (inside) moving around looking down, so it was obvious he was not an WC employee, mo traditional WC uniform and other clues as well. Side note, I would always be looking inside bc this location would always have the buns & waffles stacked up kn the counter in plastic containers which would be somewhat unsettling to me as a customer, these such practices could raise concerns. So back to this mysterious man, which turns out to be an exterminator with the spray machine treating the area! Im reasonable & understands & appreciates WC is an 24/7 establishment. BUT an exterminator!!! Noo, noo not visible to customers while im awaiting my food and while this location has a habit of buns & waffles in the same area. Many areas needs to be revisited, revised and concluded with a better result.

Location is very manageable when tracking online orders, with little to no confusion when presenting online profile information and/or loyalty reward voucher codes, something other location seem to struggle with. Whether that be due to new staff on frequent rotation with not enough training allocated to those assets, or the technology implementations not being use regularly enough in certain locations.

The environment is very well maintained, though the navigation of the parking lot can become an issue, depending on what time of the day/week a visit is being made. This is mentioned due to the fact the that the guiding curb of the drive-thru encourages vehicles to form a line through the middle of the lot, rather than around the outer perimeter of the lot to avoid blocking in other parked vehicles.

Service from this location is wonderful. Staff makes sure to get the contents of your order to you as quickly as possible without requesting that you "pull forward & wait" at a designated structure, or "wait in a parking spot for someone to bring your order to you".
