Bulldog Katsu — Restaurant in Richardson

This place is amazing.

I picked up to-go orders many times from here before, and always had good experiences. I recently had the chance to dine in, and left extremely satisfied.

I tried the bento box, and loved everything about it. The variety, the taste, and the presentation were all exceptional. Their miso soup especially is delicious, I really liked how it was served to keep it hot as well.

The lady that helped me with my transaction was so sweet, and helpful. She came out of the kitchen just to say goodbye. I think I saw her each time I've been at this restaurant, which is always a good sign.

Decoration of the store is really practical, but also beautiful. Simple, and elegant, but most importantly in my opinion, extremely clean. Everything was tidy, and obviously properly cleaned. I am certain that's how they keep the kitchen as well because that's how the food felt. Clean, and tasty.

Came here for lunch with some friends and decided on their fish Katsu because it was Friday. The menu is not very large but good enough to feature all the types of Katsu you can think of. When you order your Katsu, you can get their classic or deluxe that has a few more ingredients. My deluxe fish Katsu cost 10.49$ which is a bit overpriced in my opinion. After 15 mins wait, the food was ready. I have to commend them on the presentation because the Katsu looked delicious. The portion size was a bit disappointing because for 10$ I expected a lot more. The flavor of the Katsu however was pretty good. The fish was crispy and light and really goes well with their Katsu sauce and spicy mayo. Everything was so tasty. And I really enjoyed the sesame balls and almost wanted to head back to the restaurant to go get more as we were sharing them.

Update October 18, 2024: we ate inside tonight and it was so very good. One of us had the chicken Katsu with curry on it and the other had the classic chicken Katsu. So crispy and good. Had to get the sesame balls again, of course. Big favorite. Thanks, Bulldog Katsu!!

Update January 11, 2025. Still wonderful. Got me pickiest family member to try it last week and he loved it and wanted it again this week. They also fixed our online order that was missing curry from last week and I greatly appreciate that.
