The wife and I have been coming to this location for years after their location on 15th Street in Plano closed (2018?). We love this location. First, the service is always great. We order ahead and it's always ready when we arrive. (Sure wish there was a "dine in" option for this location but we get "pickup" and have a picnic at one of their tables.) As to the food: super! Wife usually gets Orange Chicken (sometimes Mongolian Steak) with salad greens. Wonderful orange citrus flavor with just the right amount of heat to clear your sinuses. I normally have the Broccoli and Tofu or Chicken (and occasionally the Mongolian with tofu or shrimp - used to love the Asian heat but 75-year old digestive system reacts badly to capsaicin) also with salad greens. Either has a wonderful sweet soy glaze that, in the case of the Mongolian, blends contrastingly well with the strong scallion stalks. The sesame dressing for the greens is to die for. As a change of pace, our last visit consisted of sharable chicken dumplings (steamed to perfection with no dry dough and the most flavorful dipping sauce I've ever had with dumplings), hot and sour soup (a good staple with lots of bamboo shoots, grated carrots, mushrooms, egg drop and, I think, pork crumbles) which I like with more heat (I increased it with 2 packets of sweet chili sauce (great on anything)) and more sour (addition of more rice vinegar would do the trick), and sticky wings (gooey, crunchy outside, soft and tender meat inside with a great flavor - get extra napkins!). It was a great meal. The atmosphere is rather interesting: if you like a varied selection of background music, this location will please you greatly; if you like some really good business and high tech side conversations, this is your place as well since the clientele are drawn here by the proximity of State Farm and Raytheon offices as well as other businesses in the CityLine area. Absolutely one of our favorite "go to" places...
Read moreThe most disgusting Pei Wei we've ever had!!!! Collin Creek location in Plano closed, so I ordered from the next nearest, Cityline Richardson (out of the way but worth it because we love Pei Wei). Not only was my pickup order wrong (their new call center tried to reach them for 30 minutes to verify my dietary guidelines were met - because apparently even the call center can't fully customize an order and you can't do it online either), yet no one answered the phone. When I arrived 10 minutes later (10 min BEFORE my ready time - they weren't busy at all, in fact like 10 people were there yet no one could answer the phone???), my order was already made, part of it was wrong, so they remade it, AND when I got home, the remainder of our food was inedible!!! I've been eating Pei Wei for 20 years and never had this happen. Our crab rangoon were still raw, not fried at all. The shrimp in our entree were rotten, which made the whole dish taste like spoiled vinegar. They've also changed their formerly yummy cookies to these store bought quality Pepperidge Farm like cookies AND raised the price! My entire family got food poisoning and were ill for 24 hours. Waste of $45!!!! My receipt was so soaked in oil that I can't even read it to get the code to complain or see my specific charges. Ughhhhhh. Better off going to PF Changs, their...
Read moreJust want to say a good word about the manager Nieves at the 1425 E. Renner Road #610, Richardson TX location. We originally wanted to order the Shrimp Protein Rice Bowl. But it’s no longer available on the menu. So the cashier just told us that she only knew about the PeiWei sweet chili sauce shrimp bowl. After we took the food home, it tasted way too sweet that it gave my wife a headache. So I went back to the restaurant and asked the cashier how they could make it that sweet for the customers. She then asked the manager (Nieves) what to do. The manager was so understanding that she exchanged it for us for something (Mongolian Steak) that’s much more acceptable to my wife’s health. Before Nieves the manager did this wonderful service, my wife and I were talking about may be it’s time not to order from PeiWei again because their foods are just too sweet to our taste. But after Nieves made a recommendation of another dish to take care of us, that changed our view about PeiWei. The dish recommended by Nieves actually was very good to our taste and health. So I think Nieves had just saved the reputation of PeiWei in us....
