Update: visited Modern Market today with the family and the food tasted FANTASTIC as always. You want your kid to eat salads and love it and ask for more at the end? This is the place where that happens. Service was quite pleasant; minor annoyance with one of the workers jumping in front of us at the soda machine, but no biggie and I mentioned it to the manager who was extremely considerate and polite in listening to my minor complaint. Love this place and it’s food.
Update: the owner (Anthony) personally called me to learn more about my experience and was very sincere in his questions and responses. My customer experience had 180 degree turnaround because of his involvement. I visited modern market again today and ordered much the same meal as a few days ago but also added the salmon curry and salmon Caesar salad. Everything was superb. My kids devoured the whole pizza and my wife loved the salmon curry. It was my first time trying the Salmon Caesar salad, but it is definitely a winner that I look forward to having again. My kids are already talking about how we should come back to try their breakfast. Also the staff this time around was fairly polite and pleasant. I hope and look forward to more future experiences resembling this experience.
I've eaten at Modern Market Eatery about a total of 10 times. I love their basil chicken sandwich and it is consistently great. However, not once have I left Modern Market Eatery without feeling like I got some kind of irritation or unpleasant experience. Either the servers behind the counter are snobby or standoffish, or the food is not up to par. My most recent visit was today and I ordered two whole pizzas, basil chicken sandwich, and two side dishes (roasted vegetables, and mac-n-cheese) for takeout. When I was given the bags, I decided to check the order before I got in my car. I was missing the two side dishes. When I went back to the counter to ask about the side-dishes, the server grabbed a bag in front of her (but behind the counter) and snapped it to me with an unapologetic, curt remark of "they're right here" and then went off to do something else. Not cool at all. When I got home, I was even more upset to see that the side cups were not even half full, and one of the pizzas was deformed (barely filled half of the box it was in). Major, major...
Read moreFor a long time I have enjoyed coming here, but I feel like lately the prices do not match inflation. Are used to be able to get a salad for $9.95, and now a salad that is pretty much equivalent cost $14.95. Same thing with their protein bowls. Me and my husband and son used to come here and be able to spend about $45 and now it’s costing $65 or more each time we come. I believe in paying workers appropriately and I know they do, but at the same time I feel like the rise in prices does not match the rise in inflation. Furthermore they change their menu a lot and it can be quite inconsistent, easily made favorites that they have the ingredients for will be seasonal and suddenly unavailable. Great example is the ahi tuna nicquois. So sad this is gone. They will often be out of ingredients too. In addition when I order on the website they’ve taken away options for extra toppings that are there and available; example i wanted to add extra avocado to my salad and now it just gives the option for “avocado salsa” and like 5 dressing options even though the salad comes with avocado and I am pretty sure they have more dressings. Not to mention the pizza oven is broken and who knows when theyre going to fix it. It didn’t used to be like this. Please improve overall customer experience.
On the other hand I will say that the food is very good when it is fresh, which is about 3/4 of a time. I like that it is ethically sourced and made from scratch. However occasionally I will get food that is clearly old and or order something where they don’t have an ingredient that is essential and they don’t tell you. I went tonight and they forgot to put my drink in the bag, which has happened before. I understand right now the supply chain is kind of difficult but at the same time I think some improvements need to be made as this establishment has a lot of potential, a year ago I would have rated it 5 stars, but now I just don’t know what to expect when...
Read moreDon't waste your time at this location. I've been coming here since there grand opening, which was years ago. I literally live and work across the street and had to travel to the Walnut location just to receive good food and good customer service. My colleagues and I would have lunch here at least 3 to 4 days a week, but not anymore. The customer service at this location SUCKS . That crew doesn't care about how they prepare the food or their customers. Which explains the decline in business at this location. When you try to address your issue regarding the food, they will give you a bad attitude. And it is a waste of time talking to a manager because they are ALL friends & family and would rather tell you not to come back to the store instead of addressing the problem. Yes, I was told this as if I was the problem. I never got irate, was rude or disrespectful, but was told by the manager not to come back. I contacted the corporate office and was told that a gentleman by the name of Wade, who is the district manager, would contact me only to never be contacted, and it has been over a month. I hate this, but I no longer go to this establishment at ALL, no matter the location. This is why a fast food business such as Chic fil a is and has always been number 1 no matter how long their lines are. It's because they get it. They know good customer service goes along way. And good or bad can make or break a business. And I know for a fact that this location DOES NOT DO THE BUSINESS...
