Warning: Long Review. I frequent Pho is For Lovers and have been visiting this location for the past 4 years with no issues. Recently, I dined in for lunch and had such a unpleasant visit. I usually see the athletic build man in the front but have noticed that a shorter build man is now taking care of customers. I've seen the shorter build man my past few take out orders and always acknowleged him with a thank you. This time I dined in and while ordering, I was told "You look prettier today, I don't know what is different." I respond with "Ok, thanks?" then he proceeded to ask me why my nail was broken. I looked down at my hands and none of my nails were broken but he decides to touch my finger and point nothing out. Weird.
I set my things down at the table I'm going to eat at and while waiting for my food, my husband calls me to converse. During that conversation, I said "Okay" a few times. I hang up and the shorter build man mocks me with "Okay, Okay, Okay"- thinking this was funny? Not sure. The pho I ordered finally comes out and he sets it on the table. I start eating and he comes back to ask if everything was okay. I stated "yes, thank you."
After about 5 minutes he comes back and puts his hand on the table and proceeded to ask me "Do you have any karma in your life?" I responded with "Huh?" because what kind of question is that? He repeated himself and I responded with "No." He responded with "Oh you never know.." I'm so confused at this point. I continue eating and he stops by my table again and asked "When are you going back to your country?" I'm ticked off by this point and respond with "What!?" and he proceeds with "Back to your country, back to Mexico". I am not latin descent at all and I let him know that. His response was "Oh, well you look mexican". I am enraged at this point and kept my head down so he would not bother me as he kept walking back and forth past me. I left through the back door as I did not want him speaking with me anymore.
This was such a unpleasant experience and I hope no woman has to go through this. I literally sat in the back of the resturant so I can enjoy my meal in peace but instead was bothered and made extremely uncomfortable.
On the bright side - The...
Read moreToday, December 17th, my friend and I decided to visit this establishment for a nice meal. Cashier was nice and she offered to explain menu. I ordered a seafood pho soup. Everything looked beautiful, I had already taken a few spoonfuls, and then… a black, twisted hair floated to the surface. Someone else’s hair in my food! That I had already started eating!
We called the waitress over and told her there was something extra floating in my soup. (But the waitress didn’t know how to act when we told her there was a hair in my soup. And it was not hair from head it looked like a think hair from other body parts))) She silently took the bowl and brought a new one. I understand how difficult it is to open a restaurant, develop a menu, advertise, and find employees who will work hard to promote your business. But it seems the owner hasn’t taught their staff how to handle such situations properly and gracefully.
Besides saying, “I’m sorry,” nothing else was done or said. She said “sorry” just because. That’s not a genuine apology. No one came over during the rest of our visit to ask if everything was okay or to clear the dirty napkins. No one offered to refund the meal after our mood and appetite were ruined. No one suggested bringing out a dessert as an apology. Absolutely nothing was done.
We didn’t make a scene or demand anything, but I want to let the owner know that their staff doesn’t know how to handle such situations and how important customers are these days. That’s why I’m leaving my honest review and warning others who might consider dining here that this is what happened to me.
If the owner truly wants to investigate the situation, they can check the security cameras and see for themselves that it happened exactly as I described. Thank you. We won’t be coming back. Good luck with...
Read moreThe first time I tried this place is was so good and delicious. I was so happy to finally find some yummy tofu near me. But each time I went it got a little less tasty. The vegetarian pho is lacking flavor and my bahn MI was soggy inside and out. The last time we ordered my sister got me a tofu. Bon me and two orders of pho for her and my mother. When she got back home. My sandwich was definitely not tofu but look like spam so she took it back. They were nice because they let her in after they were already closed and remade the sandwich. But when she got back the bread had not been toasted and everything inside the sandwich was slop. I ended up having to put it in the oven to toast it up and it was just not edible after. And because my sister had to go back to the restaurant, her soup was cold and my mom ended up having to eat by herself. They did not offer her any kind of discount on next order or even offer her some money back for the disappointment and inconvenience. Because of these reasons, I will not be recommending this place to anybody and I will not be back. I hope you...
