Wildwood is a good response to a Sunday appetite!
The hubby and I were looking for a place to take refuge from last Sunday's downpour. Wildwood Smoke and Craft Whiskey answered the called!
I had the Smoked Buffalo Wings that were lightly crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. The wings were tossed in a Buffalo sauce that was reminiscent of the classic, but moved forward by a generous smoke flavor.
Hubby had the Smoked Ribs that came with Fries and Slaw. The ribs had a good flavor, but some were chewy and a little undercooked, while others pulled off the bone as Ribs should. However, the slaw(I know, I know, Coleslaw? A banger?) was on point! It wasn't your usual over sauced, limp Slaw, but was crisp and refreshing! My husband doesn't even like Coleslaw and he couldn't stop eating it!
As a replacement to the Ribs(yes, we sent them back) he ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich. Unlike a traditional Nashville Hot that is tossed in a spice mix and oil, the chicken was coated in a spicy breading. It delivered on all points of spice and flavor!
Last, but not least, the Cheesecake! While the winds howled outside the Cheesecake bought comfort and joy! Thick slices of rich, decadent, cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla, drizzled with a not overly sweet compote. The combination of blueberries and blackberries enhanced the Cheesecake, bringing an unexpected freshness.
Other than the Ribs, Wildwood was a hit! Good food, good atmosphere, and great...
Read moreI decided to venture out in the Richardson area since I am here on a business trip and I did a search for some nearby restaurants and Wildwood Cityline popped up as a list of suggestions. I saw a posted picture of the salmon plate and decided to give it a shot. One word...AMAZING!!! I did call to place reservations and that proved to be beneficial because the place was almost full. So I do recommend that. I was cordially greeted by their staff and sat outside. My server was Macie and her service was OUTSTANDING!! I could not have asked for a more friendlier waitress who even told me she was sorry for not greeting me sooner. I reassured her that I had only been there just a few minutes and that she was doing a great job! The salmon was to die for!! My compliments to the chef(s) who cooked my meal!! I call them the unsung heroes who never get enough recognition for the work they do!! After I had finished my meal I eyed someone eating a delicious desert and I asked Macie what she recommended and she said the pineapple cake was her personal favorite so I took her advice. WOW!! It was so delish! So if you are ever in Richardson, TX check out this cool spot and definitely ask for Macie. Her service was amazing and her smile so infectious!! I promised her I would write a great review and mention her name! Thank you Macie for making it a great...
Read moreI went with a party of eight to celebrate a birthday. The best part of the night was the excellent service. Stephanie was gracious, attentive to each of us, and took such perfect care of the whole table. Thank you, Stephanie! The atmosphere was comfortable (not too loud, good lighting), I enjoyed the live music, and one of the musicians even stopped by our table to personally invite us to come outside to listen, which I thought was really nice. The only drawback: the Southern Pesto Fettuccini I chose turned out not to be my favorite. I noticed two vegetarian entrees on the menu, this and the Burrata Grain Bowl. The description said, "roasted pepita pesto, summer squash, red bell pepper, parmesan," but instead of red bell pepper, they substituted carrots and a lot of cauliflower. The pasta had a ring of oil around it and every bite was dripping with oil, which is not how I would serve pesto at home. However, my friends' food--the portabella chicken, the hanger steak, the chicken and biscuits, and the shrimp and grits--all looked amazing, especially the pecan crusted chicken, which is probably what I would try next time. And the portions seemed right. Everyone liked their drinks, too, and said the Grapefruit Martini was especially good. Overall, it was a...
